Suntour cranks, threads are totally stripped.

No idea how, the crank puller was tightened up as humanly possible before moving the inner! I wonder if the inner was not the right size to fit through the gap.

How do I remove them?

suntour cranks are renound for being soft...

Option 1:

heat with hot hairdryer or paint stripping gun. use hammer on the back of the crank. if you are careful the crank will not be damaged too much.

Option 2:
get a claw like tool from machinemart... i think its used to remove oil filters on cars??
this hooks onto the spider / chain rings and the puller pushed on the axel.
the crank will be mullered!

Providing you can find one the right size to fit behind your cranks, this type of ball joint splitter should do the trick.

If not, a hacksaw & new BB axle may be your only option then use a hammer & the right swearword to extract the end of the BB axle from the crank at your leisure.

I had something similar happen to me (but not with Suntour cranks). I ended up using a hacksaw blade to cut a v shaped notch in the section of the crank around the bottom bracket spindle and then used a large screwdriver as a pry to make the small remaining section fail....

Good luck!

Cheers,
Tom
