Can you recommend a new bike for me ? It will be used for Road and tow paths etc. My current bike is about 15 years old and feels like its made of scaffold tubes. Budget is about £450 and it will be used for keeping fit etc, not interested in hurling myself down a mountain though as at 44 it takes a long time for bones to mend!:-)

Thanks

something like a Giant Talon would be a good bet. to be honest though, anything form the big manufacturers at that sort of price will be a solid and reliable bike.

or a cube maybe?

As above really, all of the well-known brands offer something solid at this point. Having said that though, how good does the new 2011 Hardrock Sport Disc look:

Bang on budget as well..

I really like it, but at the same time it's definitely one to polarise opinion!

At this budget Halfords Carrera range, especially when sales put a Fury this cheap, are impossible to beat on spec and quality.
