Was hoping to pop down to QECP later on today as I have not been there for about 12 months, I have had a quick look on the website and the mileage of the trails seems a lot less than they used to be (3.7 miles & 3.1 miles).

Have the trails changed as I am sure 1 lap round used to be around 7-8 miles

I may be asking a stupid question here, but where's QECP?

Been the short rides for as long as I remember, but you're right on the doors of the South Downs so can get up and along there very easily!

Must be my muddled mind playing games with me, looks like I'll go round twice then

I live (on the weekends) two mins away but havent riden around it for a while as bikes are now with me in Edinburgh.

Urmm yer the routes are short and you have to a lot of double backing / exploring to get a good ride out of the park BUT if your happy to explore there's alot of natural challenges and places which arent part of the planned routes which take you in and out of the park.

Considering thats all i knew for 15 years it was a big jump to Glentress where everything is neatly planned out and all you have to do is turn your legs and hold on which is fun no doubt but exploring can be as much fun as mindlessly going round.

Worth a ride on a nice day before it gets too wet (gets a bit boggy and slippy in places (lots of roots throughout)

Had a good ride round, could tell I hadn't done a trail for about a year - and doing 10 miles a day on bridle path doesn't really keep your (trail) fitness up to scratch

I've always found it a bit disappointing there, although it does look as if people have added a few bits that weren't previously there. I wish the trails could be extended and improved.

Haven't been there for a long time, there's plenty of potential there for a half decent trail centre but there doesn't seem to be the will to improve things. May be due to the people running it who don't seem interested in mtb's but I thought that at one time it was a CTC approved centre. My son used to ride there on Wednesday evenings with people from Owens Cycles and there are a lot of trails on top of the official ones if you know where to find them. The main problem is that it's chalky soil and gets very slippery in the wet.
