Gillet and some water-resistant armwarmers would be a good showerproof solution and less sweaty than a rain jacket.

I do have some arm warmers actually. Although they are FPKW-esque!

After being caught out in one too many a shower recently, I can't decide which lightweight jacket to carry in my bag:

gilet: http://www.decathlon.co.uk/700-ultralight-cycling-...

jacket: http://www.decathlon.co.uk/ultralight-windproof-ja...

Gilet is almost half the weight, but obviously won't protect arms. Then jacket is the same price, more for your money if you count the material the sleeves are made of.
Anyone been alright with just a gilet? I know it won't be entirely waterproof, but at 70g, it's small enough to go in a bag or pocket and be there for emergencies.
Both at that price hehe TBH the jacket's probably a bit boil in the bag, less of a problem with a gilet which is a handy thing to have anyway.
Well that was an easy choice. They didn't have the jackets in the store. TBH, I had decided on the gilet anyway. It really is unfeasibly small, it took me ten mins to spot them in a little tray in the jacket area, all packed up. If you're ordering online though, be wary. The sizes are tiny. I'm an L in Altura jackets, but had to get XXL for this gilet.

Decathlon's sizing is all over the place tbh, I don't bother with mail order from there. Had to return stuff before, bit too much of a fafff.

Perfect for a bit of light gravel path use around the lake and general commuting duties, just have to wait for it to arrive now.

Thanks, I have a Volant already, and want an Equilibrium Disc as well, so a bit of a fan here. I think they produce nicely styled and interesting bikes, which appeal to me far more than the likes of Specialized or Giant.

Great bit of kit, mine has chunks out of it from baggage "handlers" but contents have always been fine

Not sure how but I went from looking at Autumn bundles on Planet X to ordering a set of these from Clee-Cycles:

After nearly cooking from the inside out in a winter jacket last Sunday I pressed the button on the new Castelli Gabba 2 short sleeve jersey.

I could do with a new rain jacket as well mine is a bit lose and flappy.

The Gabba will cover that off for you, Sir.

I found the Planet X merino really itchy. Just horrible. Mine went to recycling after one short trip.
Howies for the win.

Thanks to this thread I've just ordered some Belkin kit (2x bibs & a jersey) although I'm dubious about their sizing guide that puts me in a small for waist and a large for height..

Oh and I just ordered one of these too

Went for the base 105 model as it was 1. cheap, and 2. prime for upgrades. The 105 group etc. can then cascade down to my Synapse
Snap! Had mine a few months now and absolutely love it!

Belkin kit arrived yesterday. Bib shorts not quite as good as my €90 Cannondale jobbies, but that's to be expected. Certainly much better than the MuddyFox ones from Sports Direct!

Size wise, 5'9" and 36" waist (currently with large overhang, due to injury preventing me from cycling too much. At least that's what I blame it on, etc.) the XL bib shorts are perfect, XL jersey a little tight around the belly, but that'll change when I get some miles under my belt.

The free t-shirt is an L though, and so tight I couldn't even get it on. Fits the wife though, I think it might be a child's size!

36 inch waist at 5.8 is not L is it. I'd say that is XL in anyones book, let alone cycling terms!

Why is everyone buying Belkin kit? What did I miss?

You do know you're all going to end up on FPKW facebook page soon don't you? I wear the odd bit here and there for training but I think they only go for people with the full outfit on...

Probably not, but I've got plenty of L sized shirts that fit just fine, even if they do accentuate my paunch! biggrin
This one I couldn't even get over my arms.
