I'll hazard a guess that they are in better condition than the 'pringles' that came off my old road bike after the van crash last year. I'm still toying with the idea of swapping the old 6700 Ultegra kit from the 'dead' bike onto the steel Falcon to help me out with considerably lower (and also higher) gears on it. But the other half of me is keen to keep it 'old school' with the original downtube shifters, etc.
The switch to modern 10-speed gearing would see my 'top' gear rise from 107.5 to 119.9 gear inches, and the 'bottom' gear fall from 44.7 to 32.0 gear inches (using the Sheldon Brown online calculator). If it weren't for the 'slight perm buckle' I'd have likely made you an offer by now...

The build is spiralling out of control. First I got some 'bargain' Hope Tech Enduros at a fair chunk more than I was going to spend on Superstar wheels.
But they've got an XD freehub and a Shimano one was quite pricey, so might as well upgrade to 11 speed.
Working up to buying the GX cassette once I've found the best deal. Proper mental money.

After lots of emails to Dom, who's a great bloke to deal with, I've decided to build up my new bike.
I looked at a few different things but in the end the positive reviews and buying something 'different' swayed me over the usual suspects. I love the fact it has a decent BB, all the press-fit BB's I have used are universally s
t. It matters not one jot to me that there is 5w lost in transmission across the frame when I have to listen to clicking noises and spend money on crap rough running bearings. The Chris King in the Wilier has been in there for 30 months and hasn't been touched, in that time the Venge has had two and is due another as it feels like a 20 pence piece /rant.
The Definition has a lower BB and slightly raked out angles. It should descend well and having discs will be awesome. The plan is to push out some longer miles to mix things up. Ultimately I'd like to do some 200km distances, maybe fit some aero bars to it? Josh Ibbett rode the Flanders to Istanbul and won the event 4239km in 9 days // 23 hours // 54 minutes, therefore 200km isn't going to be a problem
TBH I almost went for the steel frame but I figured the ride will be good enough on the definition and with the tubeless setup the road buzz minimal. The wheels chosen were the OE Hunts, sub 1600g and under £400. There's little to touch them price wise and if the hubs are half decent it's a winner. To these a pair of Schwalbe One tubeless will be fitted. Now, I have a bit of history with Schwalbe tyres falling to bits but I'm going to put my faith in these....just the once and once only! They always ride well and Hunt are offering to fit the tape plus sealant etc all in so that's something else not to faff with.
I think I'm going Ultegra Di2 so am now searching for deals....I need the hydraulic brakes which is whacking the price up but after using Spyres and BB5/7 on other bikes I just don't think cable discs are worth it. Power2max powermeter as it has been perfect on the other bike. Chris King BB, Thomson stem/bars and Toupe saddle.

Built the groupset from a gear kit off of Merlin and shifters/brakes from Chain Reaction. I don't need the crank and now have a set of new Di2 shifters which I can sell. £350 for the shifters and £600 for the gear kit, less the sale maybe £800? Cassette, chain all sorted. The wheels are going to hold everything up but it gives me ages to put it together.
I also purchased a stand as I am sick of working on the floor.
