Not so much 'bought' as 'earned'...

...arrived yesterday. Ironically on a day when I chickened out of riding due to Storm Imogen sniffing around outside.

Question now is "other than lob it in a drawer and forget about it, what does one do with such a patch?"

Always thought a patch was a strange thing to offer for that. A decal maybe, but a patch is just so...1970s.

p.s. kudos on getting it though!

That's the option I took with my previous one.

If you were in the habit of collecting these patches maybe they'd look cool stitched to a suitable musette? smile

I have a Rapha musette somewhere that they sent me as a free gift, (or it was a mistake, I've never had anything else free since.)

I currently use it for lining the bottom of a drawer I don't use very often. Gimme a shout if you want it.

I love their musettes, and use them a lot. I have a couple of the normal ones with the vertical stripe which are just the right size for my laptop and I use them every day for work. I also have a cotton one which I use when travelling so I have something to carry my iPad/laptop in when I leave my normal bag at the hotel.

On the bike though, never. They just end up under my arm-pit and get in the way hehe

£4 each?! Damn, I feel like Aldi ripped me off now! - Good work! smile

You're not alone at the budget end of the market, I just can't imagine paying £100+ for any item of clothing - ever! Having hereditary lines from Scotland and Yorkshire I was never going to be a big spender! smile

Just picked up a new frame, CAAD10 disc black inc

Matt/gloss black with gold logos, gloss black has a nice gold flake to it:

I've also bought R785 hydraulic Di2 brakes, just need internal battery/charger and some rotors if I can find somewhere selling them for sensible money. Then decide wether to buy a BB30 chain set or convert to run my Ultegra.

Sderiously.. WTF is going on with the handlebar setup on that bike? Looks like using the drops would be almost higher than the tops??

neenaw - do you have 'previous' with Compass tyres?

If so, are they any good? I've been toying with buying some for a while now. Even considered nipping down to Brighton to Velo Vitality to maybe have a look at some. 'Chinook Pass' 28mm and 'Stampede Pass' 32mm are on the list.

Currently I'm "making do" with crap that's been hanging around in the garage for years, but the last of that "stock" is now on bikes, so come the next time that tyres need replacing, I'll need to buy. Hopefully something 'gravel-friendly' to extend my 'winter bike' riding onto fire roads, tow paths and bridleways when things dry out a bit. I could go with 28mm Conti GP 4 Seasons, but it's an old bike and I fancy revisiting the tanwall/gumwall look, as that's what it originally came with (Michelin Tracer 23mm - which seem to be discontinued and were a bit crap anyway TBH). Looking for good volume and resistance to damage when ridden "enthusiastically" on gravel.

No, no previous with Compass tyres. I've read quite a few write-ups of them and they are all very favourable so I thought I'd give them a go.
I've gone for the 38mm Barlow Pass tyres but probably should have went for the 35mm Bon Jon's instead as they can run tubeless.

I've currently got the Specialized Roubaix Pro tyres on my Diverge and they are pretty good on bridleways and canal paths. Not too good in the mud mind you!
They're a load cheaper than the Compass's, you can get them for about £20-25 a tyre if you shop around.
