I'm hoping to go this year but with it being my first time I could do with some help/advice about transfers to/from airport and hotels nearby

TIA

Hello Quarterpounder,

the nearest hotel is Hotel Motodrom, right underneath the main grandstand opposite the start/finish line,

( FIA alley at NitrOlympX ) .

More here : http://www.hockenheim.de/main/tourismus_freizeit/u...

Where will you arrive, Frankfurt Airport or Hahn ?

Anyone here part of the brit invasion ?

This year´s edition wasn´t too shabby, only the rain on Friday afternoon and some oildowns spoiled the fun.

The timing bug in bracket rd 2 was found too late by teams to change the outcome.

I *might* have spotted it but could not see both sides of the tree running because of the new blinders mounted,

timing crew had the same view, sorry about that, will be done better in 2018.

Otherwise, it was an almost perfect weekend with some great results,

Hockenheim is back on form (and on the record lists).

I really enjoyed watching the livestream, cracking job with great racing. Multiple views and quick replays was a pleasure to watch and listen to

Great meet, always love the atmosphere there. Thought it very odd though that JD's started the night show!
Was it you Benni commentating after a run in German in the middle of which was said in English 'all over the place', no German phrase for that?

Yes, it was me on the microphone, and I was using the english "quartermile slang" expression,

I might have said "he used the whole width of track" in german.

The opening of Night Show by JDs or JDB is a show of respect for the young racers,

it is one of the season highlights for every Junior Racer

as the ones appearing there already have had one or two round wins in the afternoon.

Audience like it, too, it is quickly done and there are no oildowns.
