Correct me if Iam wrong but did Dennis Priddle drive a Dodge Omini Funnycar briefly? Does Anyone know what Happened to the ex Al sergrini Super Brut? It was a dodge omini driven by Steiner Engar? At the cannonball in 1984?

You're going to have bear with me on this one, Im not the expert on uk dr history, the best guys from d/w havnt found us yet.

Certainly the name Al Segrini rings a large bell, wasnt there a connection with him and either Rune Fjeld of Harlan Thompson/Knut ?

Damn, I wish I could remember, I use to eat sleep and breathe Drags back then.

Hopefully , someone better than me will be along shortly.

I suspect the Omni funny car you are thinking about was the ex Len Imbrogno "Centurian" car, imported into the UK by Tony Boden. Tony had previously run the ex Dennis Priddle "Mr Six" pro fuel rail, which went on to be the "Shoestring" car of Douggie Bond. The funny car was renamed "The Hitman" in line with "SuperBode's" rail which he ran concurrently. The Omni ran a best of 6.20 (a real big deal in 1980's AA/FC). It was this car in which Tony recieved the injuries at Hockenheim to which he later succumbed.

(Picture reproduced from Furyous's posting on the Tony Boden thread, interesting and topical to note the car in the background...)
I certainly do remember a Super Brut Omni running at one of the early Cannonballs, and Steiner Engar certainly sounds familiar. Think it may have been an alcohol car by the time it got to Santa Pod, but I am ready to be corrected on that. What happenned to the car after that, I don't know, but I am confident it was nothing to do with Dennis or Tony.

Al Segrini has a long association with European Nitro Racing. My first recollection was Rune Fjeld importing the "Motown Shaker" Trans Am AA/FC in around 1981. Rune ran this car for a couple of years with some success. Prior to this, he had run a Mustang II called the Landlubber, in which he famously dumped number one qualifier Allan Herridge out of the first round of the Don Prudhomme world finals eliminator in 1980. But I digress....

Al Segrini then ran several events over here in Knut Soderquist's ex Darryl Gwynn Coca-Cola / Budwieser Top Fuel car.

Hope that helps, Thats all I can think of, off the top off my head! Will rack my brains later....
