Its a pity we did not get a sub 9 at the weekend but the main reason for going to Shakespeare was to do some sly testing and for me to get some 1/4 mile runs in the car because the last time I drove the car on a strip was TOTB last year.Mark Shead from Mad come to Shakespeare on Saturday to map the car on the 1/4 mile strip for the new race fuel that we have changed too, mapping the car on the strip was not that easy as it was all over so soon,we ended up with a very safe map in the car running a bit on the rich side and only running just over 2 bar boost, when we mapped the car before we were running around 3 bar boost,so plenty more power to come yet.On one of the runs with Mark in the car we run a 9.95 @ 147 mph not bad for 2 up.When Mark was happy with the map in the car it was now safe to run it in anger.I then gave the car a few quick runs to try and get myself back up to speed and get up to the car again believe me it is not as easy as it sounds.1st run was 10.04 @ 149mph, 2nd 9.37 @153mph 3rd 9.29 @155mph 4th 9.24 @154mph.On the Sunday we were happy with the way the car was running so it was now time to get it off the start line, the best 60ft time on the Saturday was a 1.56 60ft. we then made changes to the damper settings and played with the tyre pressures to get the car to squat off the line but still have the front tyres making full contact with the strip to give good traction off the line.On doing this the 60ft times started coming down. starting with a 1.489sec, 1.486sec, 1.440sec then a best 60ft time of 1.439sec cant be that bad for a cold day where people were saying that they had no grip we may even see a 1.3 next time out.

The fastest times on the Sunday were 9.27 @154mph missed 3rd gear 9.09 @157mph,9.04 @ 157mph.

Before the car is run again we will go and map it for full power at Milbrook we should be able to find about 200bhp from the engine that should get us well into the 8's I hope.

The 9.04 @ 157.9 pass makes us the 7th fastest Skyline GTR in the World on street tyres, well happy with the result this weekend.

I would like to thank Rod Bell, Cord,Mark Shead and Dek with all the help over the weekend without you guys it could not have been done.

Oh absolutely.. I was stood startline side of the burnout box for at least one of your launches..

Watching it on the launch limiter then squat and leave the line diagonally was very impressive.. as were the huge bangs on the gearshifts..

Awesome car to watch chap..
