I would love to see more people getting involved in drag racing either racing a 4 pot or anything V8.

The one thing that annoys me more than anything is this, i was at the saturday night special racing the 23T and in the fire up lane there was this total tit that when ever the queue moved forward and he had a 5 foot gap he would floor it and then slam the brakes on....what is the point??? silly little boy in his 1.4 standard fiesta thrashing the crap out of it? there the sort i dont want at the track.

Then there are the total useless lot that think they are clever to race around the pits.

People who want to race on the track not the fire up lane or the pits then the more the merrier but these idoiots who have slow cars so make them "look fast" by flying round the pits need banning.

Any w--k-r flying round pit areas or any other areas ment for the public and not ment for racing should be removed from site by security and if any problem with removel then the police cop and health & safety should get involved. This is when camaras come in handy. That might then send corect messages to other little boys who try and do the same thing. Then when that is sorted maybe we can get on with some intresting (or not!)racing. One thing is for sure is if anyone gets hurt due to an idiot messing about then things will get nasty with the safety exec etc judge and then we would all lose out! Race organisers take note ears!

The UK Street Racer championship is open to Front Wheel Drive cars as well as 4WD or Rear Wheel Drive and always has been.

There are very few rules:
Road legal tyres
Car must have a current MOT
Road legal exhaust silencer

and umm...that's it.

In 2007 we will run most rounds on Peak Performance days and show days, so no massive queue like most RWYBs. This gives you the chance to try some changes out and run again, typically it is possible to get 10 runs a day or more. There are prizes and prize money and we want more entrants!

The series is aimed at grass roots entrants and is a very laid back way of getting into motorsport and learning more about drag racing technique. It's a little more formal than a RWYB, as there is something to aim for, but still very straightforward. You don't need a race licence or race suit as we run against the clock on test days rather than being classed as an official race event. We encourage all competitors to wear a crash helmet and race suit though as we've seen well maintained cars go up in flames before now and it ain't funny.

For more details either contact me directly or go to our website www.uk-srs.co.uk
