Spectating at European races
Discussion
Thinking of taking in some races in Europe next year and was looking for advice on which ones to go to or avoid. So, who has spectated at a European race? Which ones would you recommend, what time of year was it? Did you buy the tickets on the gate or pre book? How much was it to get in and did it include the pits/stands. Did you fly or take the boat/tunnel? Come on, any advice is good advice.

The NitrOlympix at Hockenheim has to be high on any list to attend. Though not an FIA round, they did run UEM bikes this year. They put real emphasis on the Saturday night show and it is a great event with TF, etc running in the dark - though the rain this year was somewhat tricky. The crowds are huge and everyone has a party. There are always lots of Brits racing there - the SuperMods were out in force and were very sociable... you also get to see the wierd and wonderful - like racing bar benches complete with drinkers on the seats, plus its the only place they will let me race my snowmobile against cars and bikes.
It is around 6 hours drive from Dover (though cheaper to go via Dunkirk). I think entrance is around 35 Euros and you have great facilities there to shame all other tracks.
Drachten was good until the strip surface was ruined. If they sort a new strip it will also be worth going to. The facilities are basic but they do a good job. It is incredibly relaxed and again is a good party. You are so near the town it is easy to go clubbing after a hard day at the track - but take a taxi as the Police are a bit keen there.
