I own an fn2 and all i can say about the new type -R is wow! Love the design and the reviews have been overwhelmingly positive.

Will get one in about 5 years when i can afford it!

Congrats! Have you written it off yet smile

I would personally lose the rear spoiler, but other than that I think it looks brilliant.

I love these - but I also loved the FK2, if I had my way I'd have the FK2 looks (in grey) and the FK8 driveability.

That does look good though, particularly in the grey - also love the FFS on the number plate hehe

You could do with some wheel spacers on that.

The styling on that is bonkers. I don't know whether I love it or hate it, but I can't see anyone being ambivalent towards it. It's the Marmite of cars.

So this is what a civic looks like when its trying to do an impression of the "Predator" (with face mask removed) and all the fangs sticking out as it tries to intimidate Dutch.

The comments about liking the looks bestowed on it by Honda seem thin on the ground compared to those that think it looks a real mess. The OoO tail pipes too smack of a bit of the Max Powers.

Fine if thats your bag.

Anybody else think from the rear it looks a little like the latest Subaru Impreza.

Not my cup of tea. I drive one of them bland German hot hatches. Each to there own.

Not going to lie, that is stunning.
It's just mental, 100% going to get one in a few years.
It's the only new car I would buy at the moment, if I wasn't looking to buy my first house ha.

I took one out for a test drive today, not 100% sure I'm ready to part ways with my ep3 to purchase one yet but I was massively impressed. It's definitely a case of you don't look at the mantle piece while poking the fire but poking this fire is well worth it, the best modern hot hatch I've driven by a considerable margin.

Whilst I will happily accept that the looks of the car aren't for everyone, putting that aside for one moment, the 'crashed through Halfords window' insult is beyond cliché, beyond parody and beyond tired.

Much same as those who say "you owe me a new keyboard" or "just spat coffee all over my keyboard" when they read something they find funny.

Or indeed those trying to explain why this car is such a minger! laugh

Wow that car is stunning, I'm really thinking about chopping in my 4 series for the new type r, my friends have already called me an idiot for even thinking about it! The thing is my car does everything perfectly, it's fast, economical, handles well and practical but it doesn't give me that sensation my old ep3 CTR used to give me and I've been thinking about it quite a lot!!

I tested the fk2 I think it's called, 2015 model and while it was brilliant to drive, it was pretty uncomfortable and the torque steer was pretty bad, I accelerated out of a corner and found myself wrestling with the steering wheel which kind of put me off, however all the motoring journalists rave about the ride and lack of torque steer which has sparked my interest again.

I'm trying not to test drive one as I know I'll end up buying it but I'd rather wait and see how much they drop down.

I wonder if they will produce a mugen one 😻

I must be really sad but every time I see one I think what a nightmare to wash and dry they must be. With all those corners etc

My first thought was that they make the FK2 looks subtle hehe

Great looking car in that grey, although I would probably have to have white or red, just because.

I'd probably take a lightly used FK2 in blue, when they hit the 10k mark I'll buy one.

The front end has grown on me but the rear and rear 3/4 just looks so awkwardly gopping, absolutely horrendous.

Meant to be great to drive though and it does have presence so congrats OP.

Each to their own i guess, but it wouldn't matter how good it was, i could not part with cash for one.

Too many exhausts as well by the looks of it.

Enjoy your new motor OP.

That's like a 1990s Max Power readers wk fantasy given form. There must be a market of people who grew up ruining their corsas and so on trying to make them look like that who now have the means to buy it ready made. I think they call them "Wallet Barrys" on BarryBoys hehe
I like to think if Lamborghini made a hot hatch, it would look like this. And everyone would love it!
I like to think I'm the most handsome, charismatic, intelligent, and attractive man in all the world.

The whole barried car thing is amateurish bdisation of styling cues from supercars and race cars onto little hatchbacks, you'd hope a designer who has made it as far as Lamborghini would understand these things don't translate. To draw a parallel, fins look outrageously cool on a 50s cadillac that is 6 metres long, but would look pretty idiotic on a VW Jetta.
