easily...i used it to move house a couple weeks back, rear seats fold almost flat and the parcel shelf (if it has one, they're a rare optional extra) is removeable.

As far as the mx5...i don't miss the damp winter mornings and defrosting the INSIDE of the car. It was fun handling wise but they're chronically slow. The S2k addresses the performance but you're still hampered with the downsides of 2 seater practicality.

You've mentioned your missus before, the DC5 would be an easier sell as far as she goes.

buy what you want then!! is she having any sort of financial input towards this new car?

If not, tell her to clam up lol.

Haha, no she isn't, and I have told her, I will buy what I like.

Sadly the sale of my Civic isn't going so easily as the bandits I had agreed at 9650 reduced offer to 8400. Once sold a decision needs to be made.

Good question, I bought a one owner, FHSH Late '08 FN2 from a garage after looking at 6 of them. It was to replace my '99 JDM DC2 as it just wasn't practical for me to own that car anymore (Big regret). But I now have a '06 Cosmic Grey EP3. The FN2 was worth about 8k at the time and I needed to earn some cash for a house deposit, So ended up with the EP3.

FN2, Personally I think the FN2 is a much nicer car to live with than the EP3, Feels more planted and stable handling wise out of the box, body feels rigid and I love the looks inside and out, The ride is firmer than the EP3 for sure, But personally I never complained about it.

The EP3 feels like it could have been made in the mid 90's technology wise, But it feels playful, fun and a little bit more raw/less refined which adds to the experience. Many claim that the FN2 is slow, But it isn't really, it's just more refined with a more refined engine map in regards to VTEC engaging etc... FN2 has better steering, more feel and a better design. Also, The FN2 has slightly shorter gearing too with the 5.1 final drive vs the 4.785 of the EP3, But this is counteract the effect of the 18" wheels too I'm sure.

I feel out of the box the FN2 is more stable, planted and confidence inspiring blasting down some A & B roads and just as capable as the EP3 in these areas, But your going to have a little more fun in the softer, more playful EP3, especially with that lively rear end.

I have since made the EP3 fairly track friendly, which means any further comparisons go out the window.

Agree with all the above yes

Had my FN2 nearly 2 years now and still think its a great car, my mate has a lovely 02 EP3 and while i think that is a superb iconic hot hatch (i remember them coming out) it looks very dated inside and out especially the dials etc. While the FN2 still feels very modern with the digital speedo, shift lights etc and the more aggressive looks

Performance wise they are identical and i think the FN2 sounds slightly nicer, you can also afford to be very fussy when buying an FN2 as there are plenty for sale and they have not yet been hit with the Honda 'scene tax' (yet) which the EP3 has

19's are an absolute no and at very low speeds on 18's the crashy/jittery handling is close to what i can tolerate, but pressing on down a b road they are an absolute joy and completely planted with so much grip

Motorway journeys are abit of a grey area... i have had 35-38mpg out of mine but that's at 70mph or lessnerd and around 80mph i see about 30mpg, any faster and they really start to go through petrol due to higher final drive and hitting VTEC. The up side to that is they are very punchy for an N/A engine and the superb seats, cruise control and general ergonomics of the cabin means they are comfortable on a motorway
