I suddenly realized that my Honda Accord i-vtec 2000cc petrol has done 6k miles since the last oil change and I got a long bank holiday trip of approx 1000 miles

Any fellow owners could you point me to the correct oil change intervals (my owners manual is not with me right now as im at work )

What engine is it? The k20 in type-r variant is 12,500 miles, other 2000cc n/a Honda petrols will probably be the same.
I wouldn't worry as long as the level is ok.

I always thought the K20 was 9000 miles. In either case it's totally fine. Wouldn't even cross my mind.

Castrol Fully Synthetic 0W20 if you can but 0W30 will also be fine.

Or get the genuine Honda stuff (which may be rebranded Castrol anyway) here: https://h-tune.co.uk/genuine-honda-engine-oil-4-li...

Also, Costco do Castrol 0W30 at £30 for 4 litres.

0W30 seems to be the recommendation here: https://applications.castrol.com/oilselector/en_gb...

2004 isn't really old for a Honda petrol engine and from experience I've found they love fresh oil!
