I'm looking some advice on the two issues above, guys.

Honda FRV iCDTI 2005 Sport. 140000.

Firstly, the MIL came on a week or so ago. The OBD came up with p2001, which is the frequency solenoid valve or IMRC being stuck open. I've taken the valve out, cleaned it and reset the codes, but no dice, so new one on order. It's a manufacturing issue identified by Honda in a service bulletin. Waiting on new valve.

Yesterday the serpentine belt started squeaking. Fair enough, I'll check it after work tomorrow. My wife drove it today and the belt snapped. The belt looks in pretty good condition really, so now wondering what would cause it to snap...

Also, the engine was smoking (not a great deal) and the car sounded like a tractor. <- Wife's match report.

Could these issues be connected?

How easy is it to change the belt?

Anything else I should check? I'm not massively mechanical, although I know enough to get by.

Also, it's difficult to find much in the way of info/guides/videos for the FRV.

Any help gratefully received.

Cheers,

Joe.
