Bit of a long shot, does anyone know whether the SRS modules are interchangeable between MK7 Accords?

The Airbag light came on a week before the MOT on my 2003 CL9, and it's flashing the code 5-4 "Internal Failure of SRS Unit". Did some digging on Google which mentioned that it may be due to battery voltage, charged the battery which cleared it for a few days but it won't reset now.

Model number on the existing SRS ECU is 7760-SAE-E815-M1, there's a few on eBay all north of £70 but there's 7760-SAE-E816-M1 or 77960-SEF-E812-M1 for cheaper.

I presume there's a difference between Estate and Saloon ECUs but would any saloon module work?

You can reset some of these modules - have a look on YouTube there are several vids showing how.

I had the air bag ecu die on my Honda crv a few weeks back - same symptoms. Honda wanted 1400 quid + VAT yikes for a new one plus re-coding.

After much digging, I found a company that can usually fix the old module without the need for a re-code. Autotronics in Leicester. It was circa 300 quid from memory.

I did manage to reset it using the yellow 2 pin reset plug that's in the driver side footwell, but it came back after a few days. It won't reset at all anymore, it blinks twice after the reset process but comes straight back on.

The MOT garage machine couldn't reset it either.

There's load of stuff on Youtube about seatbelt switches etc but they're all for different error codes.

Sounds like the ecu has failed to me. Diagnostic couldn't talk to the srs ecu and it threw up airbag and stop start warning light.

Place mentioned above were the only place I found that could fix it. Took about a week from posting to return.
