Honda don't seem to have learned from their steering issues in past civics.
I had to have new steering fitted to my 03 Mk7 Civic, it would go notchy around the centre so wouldn't move until you applied more force and then it released with a jerk. The self-centring also was failing, you could drive round in circles with your hands off the wheel.
A common problem, but Honda didn't do anything unless the customer raised the issue and complained.

I’ve done some digging and it sounds like a new steering gearbox is needed to resolve the issue.

Hi, I’ve documented pretty much everything on this thread, but if you have any specific question let me know. If you’re experiencing issues, I would be doing the opposite of gently pushing them

Sure, that would be great... do you have any paperwork from Honda (Dealership or UK) which you can share, also the reg no. of the vehicle, all helps build the picture against a complete Honda denial https://www.honda.co.jp/recall/auto/info/241003_55...
Honda Japan just did a wide recall on the steering racks, likely not all of them though

I do believe that part of the problem is that the whole car industry now thinks so short term. With the rise of the PCP nonsense, they now have a customer base that only thinks in terms of three to four years. So what is the point in making cars that cost more to manufacture, so last longer. When they can pack their new cars with high tech rubbish with showroom looks, but with so many quality corners cut to keep costs low and profits high. I know that the BMW 5 series I purchased in 2021 was so full of high spec technology that it did turn my head. But after a few months of ownership and driving, you start to see that the quality is just skin deep. And it broke down so many times, I had to hand the car back. This was my reason for going Honda, my first and last one.
Hi I love in Plymouth and am looking at getting the new civic i had a 2019 sports plus it was lovely was time to trade it for a cupra month later it's been rejected so now I going back to trusty civic as I also had a civic before that but now I am a bit worried Jamese91 said:

If so CRA 2015 may help you. Act states that anyfauklt found before 6 months old is assumed to have existed at the time of purchase. The onus is then on the dealer to prove that it didn't exist, rather than the buyer having to prove that the faukt existed at the time of purchase. Unroadworthy car is not fit for purchase/merchantable quality and can pursue on this basi.
Would be easier if paid any part for the car above £100 on a credit card inder a section 25 claim. Problem is that max value of purchase is £30k, know some bargains about when car was first introduced but maybe not any under £30k.If bought the car more recently for less than £30k and reported fault before 6 months of ownership can make a claim.
Speak to Trading Standards they are very good (in my experience) at providing information about legal situation for each individual case.
Suspect may be a class action in states which may open door to a world wide recall or some other solution. However from my experience with BMW's thet have given specific extended warranties or components but for USA customes only.
