Re: UKDM version - side profile does it no favours, front and rear quarter-views show an aggressive stance (that'll be the rising window-line). Nose looks good except for the silly fogs, rear accpetable if slightly hunch-backed, except for the silly exhausts...and an I-4 engine DOESN'T need 2 separate exhausts!!! (No, S2000 doesn't either!)

Prefer the old one's looks I'm afraid.

This one tries a bit too hard and manages to look rather portly with it.

Will it be a good drive though: that's the thing, I guess.

Hmm...

Tried the click-thru to the comp, but Honda's a tad too inquisitive, so stuff 'em.

Well I'm one of the lucky few that have actually driven a new CTR and it wasn't just for a 5 min quick blast while some sales guy is next to me.

How was the steering feel compared to the previous gen CTR?

Re Purdy84,

Interesting to see the bronze colour, really dont know how popular that will be!

RE civictyper

Must agree, white would look great.

Still, i'm pleased to see the red looks just as good as in the brochure.

36 days to go!!!

yeah, im still very pleased with red, and I probably would still have red over white even if it was available. Its probably because they dont give you the option so you want to see it even more. Also you would have to like washing it a lot if you had a white one!

You mentioned about the wheels I think as well, the 18" do look big on the pics, the 19" are probably v nice but not for the price honda are asking!!

36 days to go, the count down begins

RE Civictyper

Not only are the 19" expensive at the mo but tyres will also be more expensive when they need replaced.

Think the 18" look really good on the car.

I would love to see 1 in white as well, but would still go for red even if white was available

Can I just add that if anyone who has signed the driving impressions embargo paper NOT to add your comments of how the car drives, you've got less than a week before we can spill the beans so please wait.

How did you get to drive it early?!? B'stard!

Now, if it was good, then surely there would be no problems people saying it's good.

No, Honda Uk don't want any opinions on how the car drives being published before the 29th January. They didn't give reasons but I assume it's to give the print media a chance to compete on a level playing field regarding breaking news.

Yeah, I understand for magazine's etc... But it's just funny

Autocar headline : New Honda Civic Type R is a good car sen-sa-tion!

Glad no one on a forum ruined the impact of the headline and article by telling me first hehe

Ref. the comment regarding the price of the 19" wheels. ALL Honda alloy wheels are expensive. 15"x6" 5-spoke for an Accord = over £220 +VAT, 16"x6½" 11-spoke for a Civic Type-S (2005 model) = £302 +VAT

I've noted the references to the Honda K20 engine. My Civic Type-S (2005 model) has a K20A engine rated at 160bhp and I believe the CR-V has a 155bhp version of this engine. Is the K20A a derated version of the engine in the Type-R with a 6800rpm limit and different ECU or are there considerably more differences?

There are quite a lot of internal differences (head mainly) but they are related.

I'm sure the FK is excellent by modern standards, but I'm so with Havoc on this one!
