Oh, forgot to say that it really is about time that major manufacturers like honda embraced lightweight techology (as they did with the original NSX) and actually get some results. With their kind of budgets you'd think that they could do better than the elise. Look at that roadrazer car...300kg...what an achivement (if true). I know that the shape and concept dont really suit that well, but if you put a roof (dont know how you'd go about it but a polycarbonate bubble sounds like it might work) and put a stereo and even maybe aircon in it, something like that would make a great commuter car that would enable half of the major trunk roads into cities to have an extra lane, use less fuel and other materials, and have stunning performance.

They must have consulted "Max Power" when deciding what spoiler to stick on it.

Bad choice.

I used to drive an S2000 and I loved it. I wanted more 'go' and traded up to a 997 C2S. If Honda built an S4000 with a V8 based on the S2000 output - 480bhp - I'd dump the 911 as quick as a flash and get the S4000. Stick to lightweight parts - front engine, rear transaxle, maybe a DSG box like the Audi TT - fantastic.

Come on Honda - do it - you know you want to!!!!

That's what I thought. It looks like an S2000 that's been attacked by Ripspeed

Looks like Autocar were wrong then: www.autocar.co.uk/News/NewsArticle/Honda-S2000/224477/

They predicted -100kg and +20bhp, looks like Honda have just gone for a tacky 'aero kit' instead. Missed opportunity?

Really missed the boat on this one
Awful kit and no real track inspired changes like some slick remote reservoir coilovers, switch to hydraulic pas etc

I reckon Japan will get the proper one, we will get the watered down CR thing destined for the US.

Yes cos the Americans sure need a good track car to really unleash their driving talent before anyone else!!

Thanks Fangio. What's with all the constant US bashing on these forums? You may be suprised to learn that this country is not a homogenous blob of NASCAR loving rednecks. Our strength is our diversity, yet the rest of the world seems to love the idea of "The American". There is no such person. With 5 times the population of your fair country, you might be suprised to find that their are quite a few enthusiasts over here, and with 38 times more land, you'll find more than just straight roads out here.

A Z350 . . . exactly my point why Honda should drop in the V6.

And where exacactly in the car would they put it ? A bit tight in there last time I looked under the bonnet...I reckon it would stick out by a 10 inches in height, not to mention lenght.

Couldn't have put it better. There's a large British car fanbase here in Seattle.

i dont really see the point because if you wanted an s2000 for the track you would just buy an early model for around £10k and strip it out then you wouldnt lose anywhere near as much in depreciation yet still get the same thrills. and it looks awful.

Thats exactly what I would do. Buy a cheapish S2k and mod it. That CR looks awful.
