Mine's used about less than 1.5 litres in 8,000 miles, so I think it depends on the car. And mine is a second car which does get driven properly more often than some who commute in theirs'.What is it about these cars that make them so heavy on oil?

That would say to me that there are huge variables between one S2K and another not just with the engine manufaturing/assembly processes but also how these cars are run in from new. I never guessed there could be so much variation between the same cars. I can only site scoobys as examples but for the most part they are all much of a muchness and don't use much oil at all.
