We had two ep3's, went to the fn2 launch night and didn't like it. Went to an S2k instead, and now got a suntan and instant facelift when we hit vtec. Been on a couple of runs were fn2's were present and they seem to be as good or better than the old model, some have been delivered though, quite a few at Croft the other weekend for the btcc meet.
One of them was me!Yup - the Racing Puma has been my daily driver for the last two years (90k on the clock!) and it is still the 'tighter' car of the two. I really prefer the FRP for its smaller size and fab handling but it really is 50 - 80bhp short of the current 'hot hatch' competiton, at only 150bhp. Anyway I'm going to give it a rest and treat it to a respray on the front - far too many stone chips - and keep it for weekends and track days etc.

I loved my standard Puma, but 125bhp just didn't feel enough. Fantastic feel through the steering though. Now I'm really having a bad time. Nothing wrong with the car - but it's whats going on around it that bodes badly. I took the CTR to have the front paintshielded. Figured protect now - save big money respray later. Too late. Gently going up the A1 and bang - stone hits the bonnet square in the middle. Pull over and guess what - the primer under the red is WHITE...not really noticable then! (........WTF are HONDA thinking!!) Anyway a big thank you to the Guys at Paintsheld who did their best to cover the damage before applying the protective coating. Then today - driving towards Surbiton, I ran over a roll of carpet - a big roll of carpet - made the car jump up about 6" - just like a 'soft' speed hump. Thankfully no obvious damage to the spoiler etc. Hmmmm.....two days - two 'events' - they say these things come in threes - lets see what tomorrow brings!
I went for the full front kit which included wing mirrors (due to the fact their the size of dinner plates!)and it was £750.00 plus VAT. I don't know if this was good or bad - but at the time I booked the car in Paintshield were the only company who had the new CTR pattern in stock and I was desperate to get it done. In fact, on the journey home I would have got a few more chips due to heavy surface water picking up all kinds of 5h1t, but only the plastic has been affected - and not badly. Whatever the cost, IMHO it's got to be worth it.

OK let's have an honest opinion - enough with the stone chips already! What's it like to drive - does it make the hairs on the back of the neck stand up with the speed you can carry through the corners? How late can you break for that roundabout when you're side by side an M3 on a dual cabbageway? what does it sound like when you get up to the promised land at 8k rpm? Come on guys - get our juices flowing!! Who cares diddlysquat about a few stone chips and a coating of plastic? Anyone had one of these out for a track day? Hang about - I've only had it a week and it's still not 'run in' yet. If you can believe it, the dealer told me not to go beyond 3k rpm for 1000miles. That hasn't lasted but I have been good - 700 miles so far and getting braver. Took the car across Ranmore Common which is a snakey hilly narrow bitch of a road a couple of miles long, and sooooo much fun to drive. Kept it in third gear on or around 6k rpm and the handling was terrific, even over the real bumpy bits it felt sure footed, and the noise (windows down of course!) was fab! Only gripe is I keep looking at the rev/shift lights in the dash - and not at the road!!! Think I might 'tape' over these lights!
I sat in one today at Goodwood and it felt all enveloping inside....snug like.
The only issue with the seating position was that all I could see of the front of the car was the wipers at the bottom. Now I am 6ft 1 and was comfortable but I didn't want to raise the seat anymore than I did.
I'll cut to the chase......is the seating position/view one that you just get used to? or is it just me?

The seating position is snug - at 6'2" I know what you mean. At an "ounce or two" short of 16 stone, I'm also amazed how comfy the seats are! You do get used to the vision thing very quickly (it feels a bit like the screen shots from Forza) - except there is bugger all low down rear vision due to the very high rear tailgate. When parking, bollards , posts and especially other cars need to be treated with great respect - hence the good lady being chucked out of the car to ensure no silly mistakes happen until I'm really confident about the dimensions etc.
