Well 10 weeks out of warranty and the headlight unit fails - condensation with no damage!

Honda say they'll pay 20% of a £500 quid bill

I aint happy - these cars are supposed to be indestructable ? frown

Anyone any advice or similar problems?

my handbook actual;ly states its not uncommon for sealed units to have condensation from when they were initially made - only if it stays is there a problem.

sound a bit odd they won't pay

Had this with my Accord - both replaced in January (4 yo then) for free, replaced offside again just recently, and it's doing the same.
Recall made in May for dealer's to fit extra clips to make the gasket/seal tighter.
If you've not already, speak with HUK CS and see what they say - and go to either of the new managers if the CS frontline are unable to resolve to your satisfaction.

FWIW, I've had AC rad, AC Compressor, lights, and wheels all sorted FOC as goodwill by HUK CS.
You can read it all on www.thaoc.co.uk and use me as a reference, which the manager should recall - 19" Rage's very recently, if his memory falters.

Thanks for the info re other Hondas

Ive now managed (scuffed hands and sores) to get the bulb out - allow nature's sun to do its job and re seal the light.

No more condensation I hope! clap

Jeez - its back! frown

Two cut hands and time, and still it fogs!

Honda refuse to replace it even though, with a bit of web digging, Ive found that Accords and Civics do the same so therefore must be a design fault!

Have you spoken with HUK CS direct or gone to the dealer?
If CS, did you ask to speak with either of the managers?
Did you photograph the headlight?
If not, do so and get an e-mail address to send it to, or I can give you one if needs be. I hope I've kept it - near certain I have.

Drop me a PM and I'll send it to you.
Ask him to pass your info, pics, and case notes over to the manager who sorted me out superbly.
Hopefully you'll get a resolution to your satisfaction.

Sorry but it's not just Honda's. I've seen it on VW, Seat, BMW, Mercedes etc etc

Don't buy the parts from Honda if you have to pay, so a search and you can find plenty of other sources.
