You're going to have great fun in the car...but get over to one of the CTR forums or Honda-Evolutions, there'll be some useful advice about tyres/geometry/brakes/simple tweaks to make it even better!
(IMHO tyres is the key...Honda's seem VERY tyre-dependent, and it's not always the OEM that's best...)

If you are changing it, I wouldnt worry too much. After a drain there will of course be some left in, but it shouldnt be enough to make any difference. would it be a big deal if a slightly different oil had been used at its first service?
Just dont do what a chap on t'internet did once - flushed it through with water to get all of the old oil out!

the car has just been serviced. i just dont know what oil was used until now and for its service....
i am sure it will tell me somewhere. i have no quams or hold ups about using the best 5w 40 full synth perhaps? but i cant use that surely if it was changed with a different type of oil.
