I know there are a lot of Porsche owners that are PHers living in Switzerland. You can read an awful lot about OPCs (mostly negative) in the UK and the service/price they have to offer, and of course there is a number of highly regarded independents that are cheaper and possibly far more knowledgeable about the cars.

Does anyone know of any independent Porsche specialists in Switzerland where I could get servicing done? Does such a thing exist over here? Or do I have to continue going to the OPC (ASAG in Basel for me) for every little thing that needs doing?

Hallo

This is a rather difficult question, as I am not in Porsches, but try these
people (I met them at the LeMans Classic 2006 in a pub in central town :-))

http://www.fachautotech.ch/

I do not know about rates etc., but they are wellknown for quality.

Good luck.

Hello everyone - first post so i'd thought i'd try to be helpful.

Try Angelo Pallavicini http://www.pallavicini.ch he is in Zurich.

Great guy and garage - a proper workshop and he knows his stuff.

He competed in Le Mans and won his class in 1979 driving a 934 so he lives Porsches as well.

Hallo to Basel

There might be some chaps near to you, say in or around the Black Forest or even
France-Alsace.I'll check.
Here are some others:

http://www.freisinger-motorsport.de/porsche/uk/

or here:

http://www.fvd.de/de/en/Porsche-0/-/-/-/hp/contact...

Both are very known, too, BUT I do not know about their bills orwork quality.
What I can say is that both comps have an excellent reputation within my friends
network.

PS: Basel and Analyst: are you in the finance or chemical business ;-)

Regards

Hi Smiler,
Where will your friends be based in Switzerland? If it's anywhere near Basel, there are a number of pharma companies to apply to- Novartis and Roche being the big ones, plus a host of others such as Actelion, generics companies like Sandoz and Mepha; plenty of chemical companies too, like Ciba, Clariant and so on- the list is endless!
Down in Geneva there's Merck Serono. Not too sure of any others if it is specifically lab work you need. There are plenty of other research insitutes here f Academia is also a possibility- e.g ETH Zurich, Friedrich Miescher Institute and universities.
It's difficult to be more specific without knowing your friend's exact work experience and job preferences. The English Forum Switzerland might be worth a try as well (google it). And feel free to PM me if you want some more help!

ta they will be based on the baden side of zurich, so the basel train line and motorway.

I have no idea what her exact line of work is, or what she wants to do, but I'll forward on the info and may well get back to you.

Thanks
