Just been on the phone to AON to inform them of a track day attendance at Dijon next week.

The underwriter has pulled ALL overseas track day cover full stop. This is dispite me being insured with them for 4 years (no claims) and having attended > 20 track days abroad including Spa and the Ring.

Looks like I'll be speaking with Liverpool Victoria come renewal time.

Surely you are covered with them under their terms at the start of the insurance. Can they then unilaterally change the terms of this contract?

I tried that stance to no avail.

All track day cover was on referal to the underwriter on an event by event basis.

Norwich Union is working on something new right now, but won't release details yet. I currently have only UK cover, so spa & the 'ring, etc are at my own risk (at the moment)....

I can't see LV covering foriegn days - mind you they seem to want to cover anything at the moment. Get it whilst you can I suppose.

Do you have any documentation from AON specifically stating that they cover trackdays (incl. non-UK days)? If so, then simple UK contract law comes into play. You may want to point this out to them via your broker...?!

Good luck.
