Can anyone suggest the best route to Spa from Calais please.... Never been before so would like to try to ensure I don;t get stuck in road works and traffic jams.
Thanks in advance.
I'm so excited !
I always go on the E40 to Dunkirk and turn of to take the E42 whole the way to the turn off for Spa. Thanks in advance.
I'm so excited !
Slightly longer than the Bruxelle way but hardly ever any traffic or police;)
Have a good trip and enjoy.
I'm doing a couple of TF laps on Tuesday 9th Oct evening (staying at Am Tiergarten) followed by Spa on Wednesday 10th Oct (staying at Radisson Blu).
Perhaps a list of PHers and cars would make it easier to say hello? I often get back from something like this to see loads of posts like "I was at Spa on Wednesday too!"

Note to self, never never ever go as a passenger with someone who thinks they are Fangio but hasn't driven the circuit before.
I'm not as discerning as you, I'll jump in a car with anyone. On Sunday I sold a couple of laps to a random stranger and blagged a lap or two with him at the same time. It transpired that he was driving an AC Cobra and knew exactly what he was doing.I've also hitched rides with total newbies, last year I got a ride in a C63 AMG with hand controls. He drove within his limits, but he's definitely going to be better this year than last.
Had a great weekend at the Ring. Took a friend's red mk1 golf for a spin with him in it later on Sunday. Never driven it before but it was amazing. The car did a few slower laps throughout the day with the owner but I just had to show him what it was capable of! He then took the car out a few more times once he realised he could go much quicker! If you want attention from locals etc, bring a mint mk1 Golf!
I hope the bloke and his child were OK in the white E92 M3 as they had a bit of an off on Sunday

Thanks for your concern we are both fine. Josh was more concerned that he wouldn't be allowed out anymore by his mum, but like every 6 year old every time he tells the story he adds a little but more detail!A bit of an off is an understatement though it started in the compression at Tiergarten and ended more or less at the top of the hill. The car went front end into the right hand barrier at over 120mph and bounced across into the left hand side barrier.
It's a testament to how well Tom (Schirmer) has prepared the car and how strong generally modern cars are that you can just walk away from it.
I also feel thanks should go to the Nurburgring marshals and medics who were excellent, even going as far as getting my wife down to us as she was obviously a little upset.
