Just ventured in here and what do you know...A track day is something that I've always fancied, but never had the car to do it in. All going to plan, I should have the Corrado VR6 by then and be sufficiently familiar with it to take it for a spin. Novice/experienced sounds like a good idea for us uninitiated types. I shall keep both Saturdays free. Will we have to organise our own sponsorship? Or is there somthing more 'official.' Let me know how much it will cost and details of the venue. You can e-mail me.

By the way, where's Ace-T?

I might be up for this if its NOT 20th November as I've something else on. I too have never done a track day before.

As that way we would be bringing a griff and an elise.... PPS forgot to mention I haven't done many track days either so the sound of not having loads of aggresive sorts out there rather appeals to me too.

WH

.......it's the 20th.........sorry

For the fantastically reduced rate for the track for the day, I didn't have any choice it was the 20th or the 20th.

Sorry

Sorry to hear that, because I can't do the 20th either. Best of luck with it though, I hope it's a great day.

I'm really so sorry so many of you have already got committments on the 20th.

I'm really between a rock and a hard place. I was offered the venue at such a discounted rate but only for this date.

Hopefully we can do another one next year.

Bruntinghtorpe Saturday 20th November.

Price will be £99 plus £50 sponsorship for Macmillan Cancer Relief or £125.

Track will be split for ladies only on the lower/indie circuit and veterans/experience drivers (any gender) on the top circuit. Our very own Joolz will be helping to set the track up so it should be a sensible but challenging circuit.

All money raised will go to the charity and we plan to have other stuff happening on the day (raffle, merchandise for sale, demos etc).

If you fancy supporting the event but not taking part in the track we are looking for marshals (briefed on the day).

Clerk of the course will be Pat Jackson (Drive Action).

If you are interested, please let me know.

Hi Amanda,

It's lucky that I didn't get around to booking up for Donington that day then!

Jackie & I would like to take part. How much will it cost for the both of us to attend but sharing one car?

Is Pat Jackson the guy who organized our previous charity day?

As I have said before, I will be more than happy to help out with marshalling, giving passenger rides, instruction if required or anything else.

Please don't worry , it's hard getting a date that everyone can do!

This time of the year is difficult with christmas looming up on us , there's going to be many days where people aren't able to attend.

Maybe we can organise another one in the spring!!

I'd just like to echo CosmicG's remarks, and I'll keep a look out for a rerun next year!

Pat Jackson took Brian round the Drive Action track in a rally car at the end of his off road day earlier this year, and Brian reported that it was a real blast, so he'll obviously approach the day in the right PH spirit

Thanks both and hopefully we can make this a regular thing.

Pat Jackson is a great ambassador for track days. His teams are very professional and also have the right mix of H&S without being too heavy handed.

I should be able to give more details about the event tomorrow (this damn work does get in the way!)

Thanks again for the support

Hi Amanda
Thanks for the emails - got the details and will see what I can do. Should be there on the 20th.
BTW - Is it worth changing the title of this now that you've opened it up from Ladies only?

Hi Amanda,

I'm not a lady (though I do drive a girl's car ) and I'm a track-day virgin (though I used to race in SoloII in the USA).

Can I still do your track day on the 20th?

Hi Duncan

The take-up of the charity day has been less than brilliant and the day is open to all!

I would love to see you there. Mail me through my profile and I will give you the details.
