Are you still liable for damage to Armco etc on a private day like this?

Nope, you can just turn up and smash everything to pieces and Darren has to pay for everything. laugh

What 'other stuff' aren't you liable for, that you would be on TF?

Err... German Investment Bankers Bikers with mahoosive families that will need compensation from your UK Insurer when you run them over after they have skidded off on coolant left by GT3 at the bottom of the Fox Hole silly

anyone from last year know what the helmet regs are?

DN states:
Helmets to appropriate safety standards for car use.
Helmets must be worn and securely fastened.

Although i have a Snell lid in UK i intend to visit next July travelling back to the UK without it. Thinking of getting a bike helmet on the way up.

not really. Most uk circuits accept motorcycle helmets (which is what i meant by 'bike'). A few now insist on MSA standard, eg Snell 2005.
Given how accident prone some people find the ring i thought i'd check that a higher standard wasn't enforced. If not, then like so many at Brands etc, i'll use a motorcycle lid.

Darren can be really fussy ref helmets, one event I took my German ww1 jobbie with the spike on top, "nein ziz is verbotten" said the Mexican.

Next one my replica NASA Neil Armstrong spaceman helmet," hey buddy no small trackday for lizard kind wearing that" again uttered the head of the DN committee from Mexico city.

Unpeturped by these setbacks I have set about purchasing one of those old deep sea divers helmets for July this I am confident this will pass the Teflon test.

You'll be fine with a quality Motorcycle lid, but try and avoid the MX ones with the stupid (for cars) massive chin.

That's actually not a bad idea - I'd love to spend a day out in the Eifel, I reckon that climb leading from the Rewe in Adenau up past the gym on the road up to Hohe Acht would get the blood warm!

I did a nice 30km loop a couple of years back.

Michaela's - Nurodisney - Nordschleife entrance - wiggly road down to Adenau - up that Hohe Acht road - turn right at the top on to the Brunnchen/Pflantzgarten road - right again on to B258 and then back to M's.
