Some really quick time there. I need to grow a pair.
Tiff Needell managed 1:15 in a standard 997.1 RS on Fifth Gear in 2007.
I guess the Z4M isn’t standard?
From memory that was from a standing start? But I may be wrong.Tiff Needell managed 1:15 in a standard 997.1 RS on Fifth Gear in 2007.

As suggested, I guess it’s a mixture of old (poorer) track surface and an improvement on tyre technology?

Was that a full flying lap?
Yep - the sprint is one and three-quarter laps from a standing start in the pit lane to a flying finish after Bobbies. The flying lap is timed from the sprint course finish line. Mine is 1:25 in a bog-standard Clio 172 Cup on Michelin PS3s.

Did F3 there and think we did 58-59 sec but that was before the chicanes ...remember the from Quarry was flat and very scary ...the kink was bumpy and on the edge in the Dallara .....
But see the new GT3 road car did a 1 min 12 in Autocar test
The outright record for the current layout (with chicanes) is a 59.3 set by Dan Clarke in a F3 car. Pretty sure that they had only c.200bhp in that spec car, and only giving away about 400bhp to the Gould sprint car. I remember marshalling at Quarry and watching the F3s come over Avon Rise absolutely flat.. Impressive. But see the new GT3 road car did a 1 min 12 in Autocar test
Rover V8 TVR Tuscan Race 402BHP on 888,s 1.14sec there abouts. I will be there on Friday in the Rover setting up some new dampers so looking forward to seeing what the track feels like with the new tarmac. I was told Tower now has a nasty bump in it, and a lake forms at the pit in point when it raind any truth in those two coments. Was there last summer in my Chevrolet TVR Tuscan race 525BHP new slix and was consistently in the mid 1:09,s yeee haaar
Wow... Some really really quick times!
Ford Puma - 123bhp?
Stripped out
Sport Manifold & Exhaust
AP Coilovers
ST150 Brakes
My fastest is 1:27, avg 1:29, as in nearly every lap I can hit 1:29.(Timed with a 10Hz BT GPS)
Always 2 of us in the car, 120Kg & 75Kg ish.
This was nearly 2 years ago now, hopefully have it running at Combe again in the summer, once we get the cambelt and a few other things sorted.
