Silverstone National (the short triangle) is pretty good for beginners.

A nice early morning blast up the A413 (if you can reach it easily, it starts near the M40) to 'loosen up'.

Nothing too tricky or dangerous, and quite easy to learn.

if your car is brand new, you might wanna think about running it in first?

Heehee - I recall Cadwell last May - picked up my Z3M following new engine instal (con-rod - yeah THE problem with S54) from dealer drove straight to track (c120 miles) then did about 30 laps throughout the day I guess.

It's quite a challenge not going over 4500rpm and getting the gearing right up the Mountain was fun too!

On my last visit to Brands I managed three dnf's, so don't rate that one too highly on the safety (of car) front .

Edit to add:- Still a fantastic circuit though - and one that needs doing at some time!

On my last visit to Brands I got a trophy....

I was so close to asking you if it had been carefully crafted from oak and if you can also stir your coffee with it, but I will take the higher path........this time!

I was at Sliverstone yesterday - pretty good for a beginner in terms of safety but the GP circut is too long to really learn much for a first time, unless you are a natural (which it appears I am not) If you get something wrong its more than 3 miles and loads of corners before you get back to the same spot and have asnother go at it.

My first day was Donnington, which has a reputation for being a bit technical, but I loved it

Snetterton is a good first choice but can feel like an epic journey to get there for some. It always seems very cold when you arrive as well!

I've drvein Goodwood trice, which is lovely but very little run off so possible not the best choioce for a 1st time

Most importaant lesson is to get some good tuition. You will go much much faster, much safer and really get a feel for what it is about - particularly if you let the instructor drive a lap or so

I had a couple of sessions with Calum at Goldtrack yesterday - its as about my 8th track day and he brought me on loads on an very slippy track

One last thing - use a good company. I hjave only limited experence but for what its worth

Goldtrack - use a lot and alweays enjoyed it
Book a track - used once and they seemed fine
RMA never used but alweays read good things

Good luck
