Another excellent day - thank you to all
those who set it up!
And very nice to see again the people who were
there in March - and some friendly new (to me) faces.
Looing forward to seeing the photos.
A most enjoyable, relaxing and social day, with excellent standards of driving.
And another couple of Caterhams sold by their top (unofficial) salesman.
Good to see you guys again.
How much tracktime? Brilliant.
Jeremy, that terrier like Superlight R is quite quick I grant you. I'll get some slicks on the old CSL and then you will be mine, hahahahaha!
Iguana, I salute your bike number plate holder. Most devious! As you left, I listened to the engine note rise and fall as you thundered up the lane and you were getting wheelspin in third gear.... get some decent rubber on the thing (and then you'll be hoiking wheelies instead!)
Next one is 9 weeks away. Get your names down early as we want to keep it nice and light on numbers.

I reckon I can do sub 1.14 on slicks. I feel a race coming on MrC.....
Managed a 1.18.2 yesterday on standard cups (not even with the big wheels on front) and Rosco was in the 1.16s on slicks.
I reckon I was faster than Rosco-man on his slicks. We had a most excellent session together ....
Of course, I need to take account of your God-like driving skills, so maybe I need to retract my claim.

Yeh there was a bit of gravel on the road & she was spinning up a treat............
ha ha no- much as I quite like thought of actually being a good enough rider to handle 3rd gear wheel spin without getting chucked in the ditch I cannot quite take that credit!
It was actually a slippy clutch! it slips for a mile or so from cold then shes fine & dandy.
Melv said:DL1, not timing as per stopwatch etc. The difference is that you have to download the data to a laptop and decipher it at a later stage. Organisers get tetchy when you have lap timers on the pit wall or in the car that let you know your time in real time (as it were).
Hmmmm....
I believe that Paul Howells was doing 1.11 in his 600bhp 993 GT2 Evo, Richard Chamberlain 1.07 in the 750bhp 935 clone last Bank Holiday Monday.....
But of course, we don't time at track days, do we???
1.14 might be a bit ambitious, but cdrtainly 1.15 is do-able in the little miracle Bimmer.
I'm having a 'new' (35 years old)rear axle
fitted earlier that week with a lower final
drive ratio and a tightened up LSD, I'm fed
up with being over-geared at Combe.
So .... I will have to take a chance this time
with a last moment attempt at booking a
possible place, because if there are problems
my car might not be ready.
