Cheeky but LOVE that car - as above, if it could be bought easily in this country without a stupid uplift on the US price I would have one in a second.....its the definition of "presence"

I love really garish, loud, obtrusively bright, violent, iridescent, big winged monsters.
Real shame they didn't officially offer a RHD Viper.

You really need to stick with it Paul. The lapping might be slower, but the track was almost deserted. The only way you'll get comfortable in the wet is to drive it. I used to be exactly the same, but a day in the pouring rain on crap road tyres at a very reduced pace taught me a huge amount about how the car handled. The wet line also offers a surprising amount of grip once you find it too.
However that doesn't mean I'm not hoping for Glorious weather for DN18!
The problem with not driving in the wet is that you really can't rely on the weather, most places. I've done three track days this year and all of them involved a fair amount of rain. If you let it become an issue then booking (expensive) days off for (additionally expensive) track days is a risky bet.

Thanks for the encouragement, but as you can see I can't even get round a 20mph corner in the wethttps://vimeo.com/148802225
I really don't think the Ring is the place to try to learn wet track car control, the stakes are too high for me. The only times I've lost control of my car at the Ring have been in wet or drying conditions, and that was enough to make me very aware of my limitations and of the potential consequences.
Perhaps I should head for Bedford as soon as it rains and try to learn in a relatively benign environment, better still find a tutor.

Very true, but my car is less reliable than the weather! I only managed sighting laps at DN14, and the Cerb didn't even make it to DN15, although a good friend lent me his Integra which I definitely wouldn't have risked in the wet.essIII said:
I'm on the 9am eurotunnel on Sunday morning, heading to DN along with my brother. Black Megane and blue Exige - hoping for some dryer weather this time! See you all there\en route!
I'll also be bringing a Megane-a white R26r- along with the Viper ACR. It is however slightly fettled with Forged internals and....450hp.... stradman said:

That's more than slightly fettled . Mines slightly fettled, with forged internals, and 310hp! Look forward to seeing both cars there! Here's my car(I'm not the driver-its the previous owner) doing an 8 minutes BTG being followed/chased by a 458 Speciale
