A cracking write-up!

Something I presume you must get asked a lot - given the obvious amount of "R&D" time and effort you've put into this car, do you not think that it's almost a bit wasted on trackdays? Do you not think you'd get more pleasure out of racing?

Glad you enjoyed it.

You are correct, I do get asked that. A LOT laugh

The R&D is a learning process for me. When I started this build my car diy skills were the odd oilchange and a clutch. I`ve learned a huge amount since then and this ongoing project has taught me a massive amount of what works and what doesn`t. It also enabled me to fix many issues on a trackday that would otherwise have meant the day was over.

Of course I`d like to go racing and I`ve never said I wouldn`t but I still get a huge buzz out of trackdays so don`t feel an urgent need to go racing instead. If someone came along with a sackful of sponsorship and said "Nige go Racing, I`ll pay for it", then like pretty much everyone else, I`d jump at the chance but obviously that will never happen and I`m not a good enough driver to earn the sponsorship on merit on a level playing field anyway.

Whilst there is a lot of time in the car the actual cost is far less than people think. It`s only in the last 2 years when I`ve bought new Suspension, Brakes, Seats and Harnesses that have pushed the total cost up. Almost everything else was done with an eye on the budget and relying on my fabrication skills instead.
