Ha ha thank you, I didnt quite build it in this track regime, and its original format went to the ring in 2008 which was a hoot and why I'm going back, an old bod like me will need lots of help to get around in anything under 10 . Hoping for a good few track hours before then

If you are on a DN day. I work on the DN days, normally controlling the cars on the entry and exit of the track. I also do some of the instruction for DN, It could be worth you looking into the free instruction slots that are available on the day, or book for some more intensive one to one instruction.
If you are visiting just as a tourist pm me if you need anything.

I'm booked onto DN in May, returning after a year out last year.

Coming back with erm...a bit of aero.

I do love a nice Lotus and a wing never hurts the looks either.

I do like an Exige and were I half the size I am, I would defo look at trying one. A chap near me has a twin turbo' Audi V8 powered one which I imagine is pretty brisk.

They aren't that bad tbh, I'm 6'1 and 125kg's and manage fine in my (smaller) S2 (although tighter spaces can be a little harder)

I'm only a bit taller at 6' 3" but very broad shouldered and 200'ish. Mind you, I hope to be less.

Crumbs! Mine is hardly a slouch, but that must be bonkers.

I've only seen it on dyno but there's a tsunami of torque.

Well, GTR got through MOT no prob, geometry set to builder's spec.....and it goes straight, turns in a treat, stands on its nose when braking, and is beginning to feel good, I'll need to get the mapping checked as there is a bit of a fluff when accelerating hard, hopefully there will be some track time at Knockhill soon weather permitting smile

Just got back from the Circuit Days event. I must say that even though I think tourist days have there place and from my previous 2 flying visits on the way to spa have given me the chance to have a little go at the ring, for anyone wanting to take there time and start to learn the ring the track days are defo the place to go.

I don't think there was 1 red flag yesterday.

I watched a brief snippet of BTG's live feed and suddenly found myself very much looking forward to DN19.

I agree about (well run) track days at the 'Ring; they really do offer a great opportunity.

Going to DN 20 in Sep feels like such a long time away! Yeah when you consider the cost per lap is Eur25 for TF and Eur 30 on weekends a track day at £500-£600 doesn't work out that much more expensive if you do 15-20 laps, less traffic much higher driving standards means less red flags and you get to use the straight as well...a no brainer tbh

Totally.

I'm hoping to find time for DN20 too, but I also need to allocate funds and have a horrible suspicion my visit to the OPC next week is going to reveal my PCCB pads are only lasting one track day... Whatever the 'fix' is not cheap.

A heads-up for anyone doing DN19 and arriving at the circuit the day before. You can get to see the lap-setting 991.2 Gt3 RS with Kevin Estre himself at the wheel. Hell, if you want, you could book an extra track day and get a passenger lap with the great man and machine thrown in too:

I must admit, if I was there and had the cash spare, I would definitely be up for that. As I'm a fat bd though, I might dull performance a bit. smile
