He spun right in front of me going onto the main straight ! I wasnt sure which way he was heading lol
Ha Ha, he wasn't that quick as even I went past him but I assume it wasn't running well. The chap also had that blue EVO that was flying around too. I've got the bug again after today, time to get some proper track day rubber as my tyres were the weak like (of course not my driving limits lol)...Only just spotted this thread! I was there yesterday with a mate in the blue MG ZS. We had some irritating brake issues in the morning which we managed to solve over lunch, and a few decent runs in the afternoon.
Zero7 I think I was out on track with you once or twice - we were admiring the Civic from a distance, mostly because I couldn't catch you
Jon - your little 205 sounded incredible!

Thanks very much. I have fond memories of S14 powered e30 M3 race cars making obscene inlet noises. The 205 doesn't sound that good, but i'm about 1500rpm and £194,000 short of replicating one, so beggars cant be choosers! Its slightly embarrassing as the static test it walks at 89DB, it is somewhat louder under load.
Me and my friend were also discussing the exhaust sound of your ZS. We very much approved, I assume it was a v6 version, what exhaust system?
Zero7, I overhead you talking to someone as I walked through the pitlane about the power output of your car, I wouldn't have seen which way you went. I would have been giving away a 200bhp difference!

I thought the MG ZS looked great, I did see you at lunchtime with the wheels off and I think the pads were out too. It was my first track day in the FK8 and I loved it, however I used up a brand new set of rear pads and not much left of my uprated front pads either. My calipers are also a bit discolored but I had fun.Zero7 I think I was out on track with you once or twice - we were admiring the Civic from a distance, mostly because I couldn't catch you

Some really great cars with so much variety.

Got a wicked one of my FK8... Jon_Bmw said:
Ah so Turn7 you were next to us the whole day now I've read posts back.
Good to chew the fat. Shame we were never really out at the same time on circuit.
Jon (old 205 GTi!)
Edited to add;
Much fun as per usual! First time back in about 5years for me. The chicanes with no power steering made for quite the workout! Most sessions I came in dripping.

Pretty sure you went out with my pal in his BBR MX5 ?
Sadly,he is having to sell up due to ill heailth.....
Its on PH now, and its a bargain if you know anyone looking for something fun.....
See you at the track !
That is a real shame to hear. Pass on my best and I hope he can still get some enjoyment out of cars in a different way in the future. He could pilot the car very nicely!
If I come across anyone that is in the market I will point them in the right direction, its a great turn key setup that anyone would have a lot of fun with.
I'm going to try and get one more day in before the end of the year, although the year is slipping away quick!

He also has a 240Msport, which he can still drive ok, and thats been round Castle Coomb in a similay manner.
He won a karting championship at 61, and mentored a few very well known race drivers sons......
Another great session with MSE. I arrived mid afternoon (principally to have a few laps out in my new toy (Silver Caterham R300) which I've only had a week, not even driven it on the road yet!).
Always a little tricky to join a trackday late on, when everyone else has been on track all day and nailed all their lines and braking points! As ever though courteous driving and patience shown by the others cars whilst I was learning the track. Cars nicely spread out, well marshalled and a nice layout. I'm hoping after an hour or so I wasn't holding anyone up anymore! ;-) :-)
Ed and Tash run great days, thoroughly recommended.
I believe there is another one today, have fun chaps!
Cheers,
R300
