It’s fine if you take the time from a video after the event. Most marshals aren’t bothered though, lots of racers time on track days quite openly lol!

Best I have is 2:47, did a 2:50 on AD08r in the damp last year. Someone else driving my car went 2:43. I think I’ve improved enough to get near it recently.

Watch this from 3:40min Mark for the 2:50 on a track that got wetter as it went on, notice the auto wipers swiping a few times lol. https://youtu.be/l9fvPAtgrBY

Jon’s 2:43. Notice how polite he is in giving the Clio room to clear the hairpin (2.2 secs lost here) . https://youtu.be/X270CfywQ1w

Nice vids, one of my most favourite sounds!

Looks fine to me but not very quick. My basically stock M135 does similar times even with me driving, reckon a decent driver would get it under 2:50, thinking your e92 should be much quicker! Also saw your Brands vids doing 55’s... again looks fine just slow. Similar spec e46’s are doing 53’s!

Second vid is nowhere near a 2:43!

I find it easier to be smooth going slow but as soon I try going quicker is when it all gets ragged frown

Brands I've since been low 53, with a 52 possible, and I don't think a 135i will be going 2:43 at Bedford. I'd be very interesting in seeing a video of any laps in the 2:40s. Did you notice that it was raining during my 2:50?

Maybe your times are fast because you're cutting a part of the track?

Zoom into the Solo DL. It's 2:43 rolleyes

The video is only 2:50 and there's a few seconds before and after the lap.

That’s more like it. What tyres were you on at brands?

Maybe your times are slow because you’re not using all the track?

I’ve not really tried for a lap at Bedford in the m135i but going from a clear (bad) lap of video timed a 2:51
.I’ll be the first to admit a decent driver would go quicker hence my comments about the car being able to do sub 2:50.

Have you ever tried the How Fast days at Bedford?

lol, there's a difference to not using all the track to actually bypassing a corner completely. I agree I have more to learn about using kerbs, being new to track days in cars after a lifetime of racing bikes, kerb hopping is something I need to work on. I'll still follow the track layout, however wink

Did you look closely at the datalogger and see the 2:43? The logger also shows 2.2 sec lost at that corner (for the Clio) to the previous lap and has a 2:40 as a possible and a 2:39 perfect lap, does this still sound slow to you? I'm eager to see more videos of fast laps from other tin tops.

It's funny you mention the How Fast thing, I was thinking of trying that this year, I'm looking forward to it, is it on the GT layout?

Lol first chicane, the green bits are for bunnies, the black bit is for you. Good lap otherwise.
Haha knew someone would pick up on that. Just wanted to catch ground on the Atom, genuinely the only time I cut it all day.

Look forward to a track day with yours one day Pete.

Here’s a 2:49 from what appears to be a stock F80 M3 with comp pack (not mine) :
https://youtu.be/axKj45aOr6M

I can’t see the datalogger but think a low 2:40 would be incredibly fast if on road tyres with no aero. On slicks and aero that could be slow though lol
Beford changes so often it’s difficult to compare lap times other than How Fast (its on a smaller part of the track - about half the GP circuit).

I dug this out of my logger.

That video is a 2:43, if you turn up the brightness you can see the datalogger in the middle of the dashboard hanging off the air vents below the iDrive screen. I’m even going to dig through all my SDcards to find the full video where you can hear Jon exclaim 2:43 excitedly. This is with an old set of slicks and no aero, standard engine (118k), intake and pipe. It’s actually down on standard power here as the map on it was robbing power rather than adding it. Just Intrax coilovers, AP front BBK and seats.

Now the car has an additional 60hp, 50kg less weight, and a big gay wing, it’ll go 2:3x, maybe not with me driving lol, but it will.

No need, it’s a 2:43 smile

Nice to see one with proper mileage. Good luck with getting the 2:3x, mighty impressive if you did.

Lovely spec too. Dread to think what the extra 60bhp cost but am sure it’ll make a difference - what route did you go?

Haha thanks for that, I don’t usually obsess to that level, but I felt it was important. laughbeer

So an Akra Evo titanium added 16hp and an Evolve map added a further 20hp. A set of Schrick cams should add 15hp when installed (in March), I also have an Eventuri intake (9hp) and power pulleys, the end result of this is yet to be proven, but it should be over 55hp and maybe 60hp. A Liteblox battery reduces the weight by another 24kg. Yes, it was expensive yikes

I’m not familiar with the V8 but if those mods make those gains that’s really good.

The weight is always the problem and how far you go with making it horrible on the road. Nothing makes the same noise though smile

Indeed, the intention for this car was always a "Gentleman's GT Clubsport" similar to the GTS, but slightly further.

It retains the front carpets and dash as standard, I absolutely have to have climate control and real glass windows. It has solid mounts for everything so you can hear the diff and feel more NVH, but I drove it to and from Nurburg just fine. The rear will resemble this.

Very nice.

Fingers crossed I'll see it on track soon, would make a good playmate for my old GTR smile

I have DS2500 on my Mini and it went through over half of them over the course of the day at Bedford.
Impressed with the power of them, though.

If you go up a grade they last much longer but can be a bit noisier though.

Should be a bit more powerful too smile
