Tyre question for Brands Hatch

Hi all. Am doing my first Brands Hatch Indy soon. I just took a chunk out of my tyre. It’s mostly the rim protector (fat lot of good that does!), but I’m wondering if this is an issue for the people there? No threads are seen.
