I'm desperate for weekend track days and snetterton is the earliest one that I can book. It's pretty far for me to drive out to so I want to know if it's worth doing or not. It looks like the 300 would be a better time.

The 200 circuit is very close to how Snetterton used to be laid out a few years ago, before they designed and built the infield section. It's still a good track, fewer corners than the 300, but still a lot of fun. In my opinion race circuits do make the best track day tracks, but they do of course host....races....at weekends.

Whereabouts are you based? Perhaps we can recommend other possibles?

Im down in surrey. I have a decent selection of tracks i am willing to travel to but not many weekend choices for now. If i could get any random weekday off i would be set but that will never happen.

Always the problem in the racing season.
I was surprised to find a Sunday trackday last weekend.....at Anglesey Circuit.
Long old drive for me, around 200 miles each way, never mind for you.

A friend of mine from Dorking finds Snetterton not too bad to get to, if that helps.

Ya, snetterton is at about my driving limits for a track day. Just about 2 hours to get there. Thats why i posted the question, i hope its not a waste of my day. I am probably going to sign up for it and keep any eye open for others.

I’ve never done the 200 layout but it has the best corners from the 300 (Riches, Bomb hole, Coram) so should be a good track.

I did it when it was the only choice and it was my favourite track........until I discovered Smirnoff Cadwell Park.
But that is 200+ miles from mid Surrey, so probably at the limit of your range.
The corners on the Snetterton 200 are good and you will enjoy it, and if your car has a decent top speed you will enjoy the speed too.

I have always enjoyed snet but I do enjoy a track with some elevation change...

How about donnington on a Saturday in August?

Pricey but it’s a great venue.

If you like elevation change and corners, then Cadwell Park is the best circuit you can go to. Unfortunately it is North East of Lincoln, but as a consequence it is usually £50 cheaper than more central tracks.

Here’s what it looks like from an MX5 2.5 turbo.......

I've done trackdays on all 3 Snetterton Layouts. I actually prefer the 200 to the 300. It has a nicer flow to it. Theres still a good mix of slow and fast corners and you can get more laps in.

Also does less damage to the brake pads, as it removes 2 hard stops at Agostini and Oggies

Do let us know how you found it.....and don't just say wonderful because you chose it.
I have often wondered about doing a 200 day, as like another poster, I am not a total fan of the extra corners in the 300 layout.

Wow, how lucky were you? 60 cars approx signed on. After lunch hardly any.

We were all laughing over on the 100 sprint, do the sprint laps then go over and do a few 200 laps. Hope you had a good day.

it was a pretty dead day to be sure. everyone got a garage and I think there were still 4 or 5 untouched ones.
It was so hot out. I was really limiting my seasons in the hotter parts of the day. my tires just couldn't take it. I would do 15 minutes then park for 30. still managed to do over 100 miles so I'm happy. I left early because I blew my front wishbone rear bushing and my braking was shaking pretty bad and my engine was misfiring around 100mph.

it's a decent track. it's fairly demanding on the brakes I think. I don't think the extra 100 section would have added much fun to it but it wouldn't have taken any away. it has some elevation changes which is nice. it's a little too far away for me to consider going there a lot but maybe a couple times a year.

I thought there were 60 signed on but there were only 40 on Sunday. Yesterday air temp was hotter than Sunday and was a very busy day.

Would have come and said hi but did not know what car you were in.

a lot of people left really early on, my garage mate didn't even stay long enough to put his car on the track. I would be surprised if there were more than 30 cars running in the morning and maybe 20 in the afternoon. still a good time as I had whole sections of the track to my silly self. I could practice braking and new lines without a soul in sight.

Which car were you in?
