Look out for this car...

...and try not to punt it off the tarmac as you overtake.
That's funny, this is my desktop background and I think that's you just in front of me.

rofl That really is funny. Even more so that the pic I posted is my desktop too. I think Jochen at Frozenspeed captured the corner is a pretty unique light there.

Absolutely, the fog was just clearing away giving the track an even more imposing air. Looked magnificent.

Hey all. I'm driving over for the spa GP this year and I'm keen to visit the ring on the Friday 30th August before the race weekend in Belgium, seeing as it's so close!

I've not been before and can't make head or tail of the information about the track. Is it open for tourist laps in that day? If so is it likely to be rammed?

Looks open to me. Try this page: https://www.greenhelldriving.nuerburgring.de/#/lan...

If it comes up in German, just click the flag, top left, to select English.

For the first time in 12 years we've been unable to book at our regular hotel in Auderath. "We're sold out because of the 24hour race" that's a first! Ok, we fortunately found space for 8 in Adenau but stone the crows, the 'secret' seems to be out and more Brits are attending than before.
We're driving over on the Friday, staying for the race and Tf'ing on the Monday. Returning Tues.
if you've met been and you want to tail end LM it's a fab race with over 200 cars.

My new Nurbugring weapon has arrived. Not in its natural habitat for now admittedly but roll on Destination Nurbugring in September...It’s an ex Jonathan Palmer Sport BMW M3 V8 E90. Fingers crossed it’s reliable!

Pretty sure I've seen that e92 at Cadwell last year.
There were a pair of them

Someone parked up on a hill without the hand brake and rolled into the door.. haha !

Looks wicked though.

I received an email from DN the other day informing me I was booked on the event in May. Must thank my brother!

My first DN for nearly three years after being a fairly regular participant. Can't wait for May to come around now

Also just in case any of you are interested, the opening of the ring has been brought forward a week, so it's opening this weekend!

I'm booked on the DN one in May, Really looking forward to it - been out there most years since 2010 but usually just get 2-3 laps in during TF sessions and so this is my first actual trackday there. I cant wait!
Will be in this. Come say hi smile

Going to Ring track day May 20th, possibly in my daily (manual Gallardo) but probably and hopefully in my Baby (S1 Elise/comfort blanket/mental DVA special)

Many many TF laps over the last 9 years but my first private track experience.

Bring it on

Track day on the full loop is very different to TF. Having the whole Dottinger Hohe straight to experience is a lot of fun.

DN run things well too.

DN 22 booked up roll on Sep! Yeah the run up Dottinger Hohe under the bridge down into Tiergarten is properly exhilarating when pressing on ...what’s everyone’s favourite section of the track? For me it has to be from flugplatz to schwendkreuz to foxhole just an awesome section

For me, the run down through Fuchsrohe (Foxhole) to Adenauer Forst is the most exillerating. It's quite narrow and not absolutely straight and has a few bumps and is downhill - your brain tells you WOT downhill is 'wrong' - which all combines to create, for me, a very unique sensation of speed.
