Hello PHers!

This thread is posted having been given the thumbs up by PH Headshed. Thanks to Ben and the team. Pistonheads has worked in support of Mission Motorsport through 2018 and it’s a relationship we hugely value, long may it continue.

With huge thanks to Silverstone, the circuit has partnered with The Forces’ Motorsport Charity to deliver the Mission Motorsport Silverstone Troops Trackday on 4 February 2019.

Full GP Circuit, 105dB (static).

The day will be based from The Silverstone Wing and Formula 1 Pitlane, and will be the largest one day recovery sport event we’ve ever staged – firstly as an opportunity for a large beneficiary population to experience the UK’s finest and fastest track, secondly as a fundraiser for the charity.

We’re delighted to offer PHers the chance to join the fun and have allocated 10 spaces for you all to argue over – the cost is just £250, and if we’ve got our maths right that’ll help cover our costs of putting on the event. We’d like to make use of your passenger seat for the day for MM beneficiaries and, as the price offers the most cost-effective way of driving the legendary F1 circuit, would like to task each of you with raising some money for us in the intervening month. Mission Motorsport receives no funding from government and relies entirely on private support to survive, so by fundraising you’ll help finance the other 364 days of the year of our work with Britain’s Wounded, Injured and Sick servicemen and women, and their families.

How you go about raising money for us is entirely in your hands. Cake sale, deep pockets, grow a tache, have a whip round – As MM’s fundraiser I am on hand at any time to help with ideas, planning, setting up a bespoke fundraising page and more.

With respect to cars – ideally the superer the better! We’ve already got the usual MM fayre of GT3 RSs, Pistas, Ford GTs and even a McLaren Senna booked on to attend. However, far more important is proper, responsible track driving experience and the ability to recognise when carrying a beneficiary if it’s time to push or time to let off a little. Our driver briefings cover all of this but as you’re carrying one of our blokes or girls we really need to know you’re a safe set of hands.

To book your place please email me on bw@missionmotorsport.org and I can send a link to get you paid up and booked on.

Thanks all!

Ben and the whole Mission Motorsport Team.

As an ex marine and recent cancer patient I'd be well up for this. Unfortunately I can't easily take the Monday off work as I run my own business but I'll certainly try. I do like a bit of track time too smile

Ex marine here, my brother does a fair bit of things with mm being an injured serviceman.
I think you've invited one of the Navy guys I race with too in his 106?
I'm not sure the racecar will be ready but the Noble could be. I'll have a look at dates and work.

Tip top, wonder who that is...

The 106 Andrew bloke, suspect that's our new friend at Drake.

Cars don't have to be race cars, just have a passenger seat and work!

I would very much like to do this, I've got an Esprit but no spare seat at the mo (I sold it!). So I will have to see about that.
10 places will go quick I think...
