Bit of an update,

The last few months I had the headache of selling & buying and of course moving house so plans were put on hold.

decided on an ep3 type R, reason being I used to own one and really enjoyed it for what it was, I always wanted to add a supercharger but never did so I think this will be a feature on the car.

First steps will be stripping the car, Addin some braces and better tyres.

Then will come the SC, brakes, exhaust and springs in no particular order.
General rule of thumb, is make it stop, make it handle, then make it go......

I’d defo be putting the supercharger well down the list in terms of priorities.

Have always been a firm believer that you shouldn’t be going in search of more power till you’ve managed to get the absolute best out of the power you already have.

So many folk do it - get a couple of track days under their belt then start chucking money at the car in a bid to go faster without realising there’s still a lot more time to be found in the car and indeed driver first.

Decent braking would be priority number one for me, followed by handling. Get the weight out of it and get it setup nice and then enjoy it - spend some time learning the car and you’ll see yourself getting faster without needing to Chuck thousands in to a blower setup smile

Echoing the posts above... Do you want to spend your time actually doing track days, or just modifying a car?

It seems to be such a common theme that people want to do track days, spent loads of time and effort stripping out a car and then get bored and sell before doing more than a handful of days...

Good luck either way. thumbup

Don’t feel that you automatically have to buy big expensive brakes.

Sometimes the brakes on GTI-esque cars just need a refurb and decent pads, discs and fluid to last quite a few laps before fading.

My best track days have been in one of my various sheds over time......., I'm not racing anyone.....I'm just learning to get the best out of what I'm driving at the time.
