Nurburgring 2020
Discussion
When all this kicked off back in March I naturally thought no Ring trip for me this year (not the end of the world given the circumstances)
However given the pending air bridge statement I have penciled the first weekend of September, I have got a voucher from le tunnel for my cancell May trip over, so will use that.
TF here I come.

Yes same here. It will be busy then and perhaps even busier than the end of May dates I had booked... However given the pending air bridge statement I have penciled the first weekend of September, I have got a voucher from le tunnel for my cancell May trip over, so will use that.

I don't know about you but if things turn out as bad as a minority of doom mongers say, I actually want to maximise my time there rather than on a crowded beach or in front on my computer.

Trackdays seemed a fairly low risk endeavour even when things were more uncertain back in March or April...drive your own car and keep distance with everyone else., not that difficult really. Kind of annoys me that I missed the Circuit days double in early April too but what can you do, gonna maximize the Ring Prime weekend time that's for sure!

That's bizarre as we were booked also for the last weekend of May.. I don't know about you but if things turn out as bad as a minority of doom mongers say, I actually want to maximise my time there rather than on a crowded beach or in front on my computer.

My only reservation is regarding bars and restaurants (I know first world problem and all that) if there is no where open for socialising then its a bit of a downer.
Personally I am not overly bothered by CV although I am respectful of it.
Our group has gone from five of us to maybe 2/3, there is a chance I will be flying solo. Not bothered though, I like my own company but I love the ring more..

You shouldn't really have a problem socialising, as long as it's the group you're coming over with. It's only really standing at the bar that isn't allowed here now. Just go into the places with a face mask on and keep it on until you are seated at your table. Then you can take it off and it's all fine.My only reservation is regarding bars and restaurants (I know first world problem and all that) if there is no where open for socialising then its a bit of a downer.

The waiting staff always wear them but you only have to when you're moving about (to the loo, etc.)
It's really no big deal as long as you adhere to the rules

any indication of when the viewing points open back up Adenauer?
Unfortunately not, they are still being strictly marshaled, lots of barriers and people standing checking at the main viewing areas and also NGmbH cars driving around doing random checks. It was really strict on Saturday for the first VLN race, they wouldn't even let me walk the bloody dogs anywhere within the perimeter of the ring, and I live 300 yards from it!! That's never happened before.
Best just to obey the rules they've had to put in place and wait it out.
I thought I saw some people spectating from Breidscheid on a recent upload but they may have been asked to move on which I totally get as they don't want to attract any negative attention I'm sure. The ramifications of which could be that the authorities ask them to close down again. Which would be cr4p for all of us!

Me and a load of mates swapped our trip over to the Circuit Days date in October. Looking like it’ll go ahead now which is a bonus.
Would love to slip a little trip in before then too. Maybe a long weekend.
Feels like forever since my last trip!

I think he was here all last week. If they were videos taken at trackside then he must have got special permission to take them as the only people that are allowed trackside are accredited ring photographers (Mrs. Adenauer is one). If it's from inside the car whilst lapping, well, that's okay. You may well see the odd spectator from time to time but they are swiftly moved on.

Exactly that, absolutely. And I know I have said that it's no problem to eat in the restaurants etc. which it really isn't, but please keep in mind that the Germany like their rules, and they like to obey them. That is mainly why TF is still allowed during this Corona malarky.
The British way, as I see it (and I am a Brit so do have a little insight), is to turn up at a restaurant having forgotten to bring a mask and then kick up a fuss because they won't be let in. Please don't do that.
And, as a nation of tunnelers and wall climbers with a bit of history of that in Germany, please don't start digging Harry in the woods and then post about it on the internet that you made it to the inside of Pflanzgarten. Again, please don't.

Yes. Strict measures at the very beginning are necessary. If all goes well, then the 24 hours of the Nürburgring at the end of September will pass too. Let's hope that the race at the end of September will be with the spectators.
