Then you read the above link and it clearly states no helmet hire.
Indeed – apologies me posting that didn't really answer your question but may be useful to others. I'm sure MSVT will get back to you quickly enough to resolve. Less than a month to go now biggrin
Thanks, MSVT have indeed been very efficient and replied this morning. The answer is exactly as "4.7" states above.

Massive thanks to everyone that has booked on, spaces are now sold out. There is a reserve list for anyone that's interested in joining us, otherwise we'll be looking to add a couple more into our calendar in 2021. Look forward to seeing you all next month!

Well done on selling out.

Quick question, is Brands suitable for novice track day-ers?
I know Donnington and Silverstone are recommended due to the number of run off areas.

Definitely, it's where I did my first track day. Brands, Silverstone and Donington have all been developed at GP circuits so the track is wider with more run off to suit. The only daunting part of Brands is Paddock Hill but as long as you build your pace steadily, you'll be absolutely fine.

In hindsight I wish I'd booked some tuition on my first day – 15/20 minutes is all you need to start with and under normal circumstances, most track day organisers have instructors that you can book a slot with to show you the ropes on any given track.

Important update: Please read

It is with very much regret, that PistonHeads will no longer be attending the track evening next month. MSV Trackdays are still going ahead as planned without us, so bookings are unaffected.

Following our withdrawal from the 24 Hours of Le Mans, we have taken the very tough decision not to operate or be part of any events throughout the remainder of 2020.

I apologise to those that will be disappointed by this, as we are too. We're planning to try and get our event calendar back to normal in 2021, so look forward to seeing many of you then.

I just got the same email from MSV.

The main thing is it’s still going ahead and will Still be a good chance to meet up with some Fellow PH Contributors, will have to make an effort to say hello when we are there.

Yes, it's ashame this is no longer a Pistonhead events. It brings a different atmosphere to a track day.

It was fully booked quickly so does that mean the majority of cars there will all be on here?

Why.....?

Sorry to put you on the spot Ben, but it seems much easier to cancel event’s these days than attend them...
I know the track time is still happening but I feel the need to question the drip drip drip, I see around us of people trying to remove any form of perceived risk. Be it commercial, political or even how we spend our own personal time, this attitude if left unchecked will eventually make us all far-poorer in both spirit and economic terms.

The additional irony of this Is that 95% of the British public already think the whole concept of a track day is inherently dangerous, a cocktail of BTCC - WRC and Banger racing. Taking your own road car on track is like admitting that you have no regard to your own personal safety and have also finished using it as a serious mode of transport.

First and foremost, the health and safety of our community and their families is our priority. The decision we've made is not isolated to this event, but part of a larger assessment for 2020 where we've taken the tough decision to remove ourselves from all of our event plans for the remainder of the year.

Our events are my passion – I give up my own personal time to organise and attend them. The decisions we've made have been very difficult, but with the best interests of the community in mind. I fully understand that people will be disappointed, as am I.

We're already working on event plans for 2021 and will aim to hold more track events with the team at MSVT but until coronavirus is under control, things are on hold.

Cheers Ben also for the update and my apologies for slight rant....I’m not even going to brands getmecoat
But I do enjoy the track Pistonheads events at Silverstone and So sad to hear of a decision in July that nothing will happen for the rest of the year.

On a side note, I am personally not expected to be working much if at all until 2021 at the soonest as “employed” in the wider Exhibition, and Events industry, which Perhaps gives some context to the frustration in my previous post.

Don't worry Alan! You and me both. If there is a remarkable change then we may re-assess towards the end of the year, but for now, it's better to set expectations and not make any further plans for 2020.

I can't imagine what it must be like to be in your position, so best of luck. Assuming that 2021 is looking more normal, there's certainly going to be a huge amount of pent up demand for car events I would have thought!

That was a very quiet track day! Empty garages and lots of empty track, a rare treat.

Do expand - it was supposed to be fully booked?
