Are you still booking track days?

What do you think are the odds of organisers surviving this? I have money with Javelin and am happy with the "store credit" option - assuming they're not about to go bust! (As it's also my brother's money).
Same, I bought £1,000 worth of credit with a friend and we've only used x2 Silverstone TDs so we still have £550 between us in there. Not exactly a life changing sum of money to lose in the scheme of things but still. It looks like Javelin are a small, family run business so hopefully very lean with low overheads.
If and when normality resumes, I am quietly confident our money will still be there, what with their good reputation and the incentive to protect it.

I would guess pretty high. I don't think they have many overheads and for a lot of them it isn't their main job.SpudLink said:
I received an email from MSV informing me that my trackday on 11th April is cancelled. They have given me a refund in the form of a voucher. It says “All credit vouchers have an expiry date of three months.”
Since they have closed all tracks until May, it doesn’t seem that generous.
All credits are for 12 months. The email that went out had the default 3 in error. If you pop into your MSVT account it will show 12.Since they have closed all tracks until May, it doesn’t seem that generous.

I also have a separate £600 voucher that I haven’t used yet. If the shutdown lasts beyond April I will then have to ask if that can be extended.

There's bound to be some people affected enough that they won't use the voucher before it expires, their money trousered.

I have to wonder why there needs to be an expiry date at all, given the extraordinary circumstances.

For airlines, the rumour seems to be that government guidance will be voucher for 2 years - with a refund AFTER that if you were unable to use it. Nothing official or confirmed yet though.......There's bound to be some people affected enough that they won't use the voucher before it expires, their money trousered.

I received an email re voucher for cancellation for Oulton park for 23rd April. I referenced there terms and conditions (within there website) and now received a full refund. PM me if need any advice. There's bound to be some people affected enough that they won't use the voucher before it expires, their money trousered.
Id thought it would be better to keep voucher for there company security but my business is also decimated right now and no sales income due till lockdown / hibernation ends. Plus have two very very expensive BA Economy flights to pay for from the USA when Virgin left us stranded. Don't know if more angry at Virgin leaving us (with zero communication after 30 plus calls / messages trying) or BA profiteering !
Be safe

Any ideas out there as to when TD's might be back?
I would imagine it's practical to operate them with a bit of common sense - maybe online drivers briefing the night before etc.
Anyone know??
Motorsports UK have suspended activity until the end of June. I would imagine it's practical to operate them with a bit of common sense - maybe online drivers briefing the night before etc.

I don't think trackdays can be considered 'essential' by anybody's definition of the word.

Racetracks aren't on the list of places that must close. They only closed because of the risk to customers and impending lockdown.
I imagine that as soon as the lockdowns lifted trackdays will restart within a week or so.
Racing later on, probably online with other sporting events.
Agreed. Soon as 'guidance' let's people out and about they will be keen to rock n roll again, probably with similar measures to just before closure. Both TDO's and circuits will want some kind of activity/income asap, regardless of racing governing bodies decisions. They'll just be hanging on the government announcements regarding 'total' lock down I reckon. I imagine that as soon as the lockdowns lifted trackdays will restart within a week or so.

This tdo and trackdays didn't stop until the Tuesday after the lockdown there were a few on the Monday. They were one of the last sporting/outdoor activity left running most had stopped the week before. The only reason they carried on so long was track owners wouldn't cancel the tdo bookings so if they cancelled they be left out of pocket.
Yep, that and they were just about all fully booked Gassing Station | Track Days | Top of Page | What's New | My Stuff
