My son bought me my first car track day at cadwell for the 13th of feb. I have been there on track once before in my biking days so I was super excited with a tinge of nerves.
Cadwell track days are now cancelled until at least the 14th of feb furious

The Caterhams have some of the best racing round here - this was a particularly tight race

I'm sure you can just rearrange it? Cadwell isn't a great place to be driving around this time of year.

They refunded him. Yes, I was a bit nervous of driving cadwell in the cold and probably wet so maybe it’s not such a bad thing.
I will get one booked for the summer now.

I've booked cadwell on 21st march, it'll be my fitst time there. It looks fantastic. I've had a few track days at bedford and snetterton, and i wanted something with a bit more elevation.

You're certainly going to get it. Or perhaps not as I am not sure track days will go ahead then but fingers crossed.

More bad news for Cadwell Park... They've had their Medical Car and Safety Car stolen. frown

Its a great track, but a lot more fun in the dry.
Very easy to be in the barriers in the wet
Less powerful cars do well because there are 14 bends in 2.1 miles.

Here's what it's like on a nice dry day.

Sorry to hear news like that. At a time where companies are really on their knees, that must really hit hard.

I have just booked Cadwell for 5th May.

It says that tuition is not available though through Javelin - it's my first time there as a driver.

Can't wait for it. Some say the excitement felt waiting to collect a new car is equal to that of an upcoming track day smile

I never sleep well the night before a track day, too excited combined with knowing I will have to make an early start.

Hints for a first timer - all the usual ones about take your time and build your speed up slowly. You have all day - so take your time. It's a great circuit and it flows, but it is narrow, and is unforgiving if you end up on the grass in certain places. I have always sat in the cafe on wet days - it usually dries up - but my car is light, powerful and rear wheel drive, and once on the wet grass you realise that almost all of it heads downhill to the barriers.

On my first track day, both at Cadwell and in this car, I was advised that if I lost it at Charlies (top of the hill after the start finish straight), don't fight it, just let it run onto the grass, collect my thoughts and carry on. Two hours later I did lose it exactly there and remembered the advice.

It's my favourite UK track - hope you have a great day. I might even join you.

^^^^^ me too. I would go as far as saying that TDs (and MTBing) in 2020 were my way out of the C19 doom and gloom. Hopefully spring will bring more TD action.

Haven't got a decent video of me doing Cadwell, but here's a good one of Tim Gray in a bikesports spec spire GT3 (slicks & wings version of the car I race).
