Doesn’t have a Bronze swimming certificate, but no one’s perfect.
I attained my cycling proficiency certificate in 1970 if that counts.
Getting four laps in last night with four different clients was a challenge…. But succeeded!

How would tuition work? My car is loud and with helmets there’s no chance of a two way conversation. Even if shouting. Would it be do one lap, take mental notes, come back in and debrief then go again and try and implement what was discussed?

Thanks to the guys who said they'd read my reports on here before and were asking why I hadn't posted any this year. I'm on with it.

As Paul said, weather was hit and miss but no red flags over 2 days was a credit to everyone who was driving on the event.

I hope "Jekyll and Hyde" is a good thing confused
I enjoyed your rally cross video, cheers for sharing we’ve all done something stupid like that. Mine was in the snow rofl

Last week was my first DN. Excellent event, very well run and as has been said already, the standard of driving was spot on. Despite being in significantly slower machinery than most I never felt like I was bullied out the way, nor did anyone seen to mind when I passed them in the wet in a Fiesta while they tiptoed round on Cup 2Rs biggrin

The old pork was running great on Monday morning but developed a bit of a tick around lunchtime, so I called it a day then rented the Fiesta from RSR for the Tuesday. Great fun it was too!

A mate and I shared instruction from Laurin at https://www.johlen-coaching.de/ He's the second instructor we've had at the 'ring and he was by far the best of the two. After-event review showed a sub 9 was on the cards in the ST had it not been for yellow flags and letting a few GT3 and E92 trains pass. Highly recommended.

Can't wait to get back out next year!

Will I be able to see anything? I asked

No one else has complained - he said

Thanks again for the PAX ride, well worth the wait

I definitely need some coaching next time, particularly to understand where the wet line is. Monday was exhausting wobble

Tuesday was epic, although made me realise that the Alpine's dampers aren't up to the ring undulations - a wild ride!!

We sometimes have to do the one lap/debrief thing. As long as the driver is fairly familier with the track layout then there’s always scope for gains. I’ve instructed in many cars with zero chance of spoken communication.

I've just come back from a cracking weekend at the Nurburgring, the main limiting factor was me because i didn't have the confidence to drive at more than 7/10. I was wondering if it's possible to get some tuition on a tourist fahren or is that just reserved for trackdays?

I think Laurin, the guy I linked to above, will also instruct during TF. Give him a shout, he's a really nice guy and I'm sure he'll help you out.

Is that a queue on a late September TF evening? I'm planning on going to the TF evening this Thursday, and was hoping to get a relatively quiet couple of laps in given the time of year!

Mate, send an email to Chris at Circuit-days, or ask my wife Kim at registration.

There's five instructors working all day friday direct for Circuit-days so there's a chance there may be a vacant slot but I will not see our schedule until tomorrow afternoon.

Everyone have a good day on Fri? Seemed to run better than the July event with only one red flag but was still hard to get many clear laps with numerous yellows and double yellows . V tricky conditions in the afternoon too with start of the lap greasy , middle sector pretty dry and last third v wet…first time I’ve experienced that! Season done now so roll on 2023!

You had a cracking weekend, drove within you limits and kept your p&J wrinkle free.
How much more enjoyment will be had by pushing your limits.. where does it end ?

Did my first ever lap on a beautiful, sunny evening on 11 October. I was instantly addicted and couldn't stay away for long, so I went back for four laps on Sunday. It is the most brilliant and surreal place. I can't really believe it's legal in 2022. I love Germany. Wish I lived closer, but an 8 hour drive isn't so bad I suppose, when I could be living on the other side of the world!
