Opinions... Trackday, was I treated fairly?
Discussion
I'll stick my head above the parapet here and say that I don't think the driving was too bad..assuming it wasn't a novice day.
The circuit doesn't help but the other cars looked to be driving a lot slower than I would have expected and the OP didn't appear to be doing anythng dangerous.
I do bike track days which are split by ability groups, the general rule for novice group is no overtaking on the inside of a corner when the lead bike is close to tipping in and keep a couple of meters away, but out-braking for an overtake is standard stuff. The higher groups is less regimented and contacts can and do occassionally occurr.

Those are not the rules for a car trackday. The circuit doesn't help but the other cars looked to be driving a lot slower than I would have expected and the OP didn't appear to be doing anythng dangerous.

Yes, every poster on this thread is wrong and you are right. Or perhaps not.
I’d take up the offer from track day driving instructors if I were you. Sat in the passenger seat you will realise you really weren’t going that fast and with them next to you while you are driving and/or analysing video of you behind the wheel you can learn an awful lot.
Unless you’re an arrogant so and so who (laughably) thinks they know it all already.
I have taken tuition already. The instructor wanted me to sit in a position that wasn't comfortable at all and I couldn't really get past that. It's hard to enjoy yourself when you're not comfy.I’d take up the offer from track day driving instructors if I were you. 2005 Audi A4 Diesel Estate is going join the powerfully built company director for PH classic status. Just replace "Dominate the stairs" with any number of quotes about rack and pinion steering & slow 911's.
Came asking if was he treated fairly, actually came to get validation for poor behaviour. Didn't get it, doubled down on being right rather than evaluate his own performance & behaviour.
As entertaining as this thread has been (and it really has, Mrs AlphaDelta keeps asking me why I'm laughing); who's more of a fool? The fool or the fool who argues with him?

This is why the OP is beyond reach. No ability to take direction from anyone.

He's trolling you. And you're falling for it, believing he's serious about anything other than being an impatient git on track.2005 Audi A4 Diesel Estate is going join the powerfully built company director for PH classic status. Stop replying and he'll go away once he's no longer getting any attention. If everyone wasn't so interested in showing how clever they were, this thread would be dead by now.
As for this thread actually making you laugh out loud, I can't imagine which bits. I don't think I've so much as raised a dry smile at any of it.

Starting to feel sorry for the OP, it’s verging on public humiliation now.
This is nothing you should see the Track Time group on Facebook he posted the same in. It will run for months on there until the next person comes along with something. Jamescrs said:

What a surprise. The 911 driver writes a sensible and considered post and even offers to take you out in his car and you respond like a petulant child.
How is agreeing with him being petulant?Do you know what petulant means?
Stop using big words you don't understand.

Not here to start an internet fight, the above is what I thought on the day. I'm at Anglesey again in September with Javelin and quite happy to take you out in a slow 911 if you want.
I can't argue with your first hand account of your experience i.e. you're inferring his experience was different to yours, and therefore not going to take anything he has stated onboard.
Anyway, keep it coming, I'm loving the popcorn!

Yeah time to close it I think. OP is clearly now taking the classic “I’ve made myself look like an idiot so I’ll pretend I was trolling all along” stance.
He’d have to admit he was driving like that on purpose and that his friend was just acting like he was. At this point, a flounce would be more respectable.
