Op if you were really faster and better you would have had no issue getting by.

Your hand waving is arrogance at its max. My car is slower so I'm going to wave my hand... Ok Maldonado.

Well done to the chap in the supra. It's being used rather than sat on a drive boasting of its value
That's exceptionally weak trolling. laugh
It’s easy to just wave. It isn’t malicious, even the queen does it…

A front running Lotus Cortina at the Revival is probably a couple of seconds slower than the op.
A front running lightweight e-type is lapping maybe almost 30 seconds quicker.
Typo?

2018 FL Rob Huff, Jaguar E-Type Coupe – 1:30.135, 95.05mph
2018 FL Ashley Sutton, Ford Lotus-Cortina – 1:30.574, 94.59mph
Ah yes : an extra zero 😄.

And your 3 should be a 7... and quicker should be slower. But apart from that, you nailed it whistle

The queen wouldn't need to. The secret service would ensure she was already in the faster car and any that might have better skill would be shot if they didn't let her passed. So no waves there.

Yes, you should have either been much more decisive and just gone around the outside of him in one of them fast rights, or drive it through the pit Lane one lap, then straight back out.
Overtaking in the bends or braking zones isn't allowed unfortunately and the pits were closed as they used them to queue up the cars for the next session. I did try backing off and crawling round for a lap, but then caught him on the next lap because he was that slow (last two laps of the video)
Should have took your chances and out braked him into one of the bends. Ignore the rules. You’d have probably got away with it and if the chap on pit lane exit wanted to have a word just say the Supra braked early and you had to slip past to avoid a shunt.

Apt, as it’s a Supra.

Yes. That's clever.

You must be the brains of this operation.

Incredibly frustrating when someone doesn't move over for a clearly faster car. I do agree that the OP should have taken a valium and dropped back to get some clear track, instead of getting all angry, diving around his back end under braking.

On a side note, the Supra just fked off on the straights rofl Some serious grunt there!

He did, he ended up right behind him again inside 2 laps

Would have sorted it. Needed doing.

Fair enough, I skipped parts as it was making me sleepy tbh. Still, I'd of probably came in for a bit and waited for him to come in.

Wise enough to know the Supra knew what he was doing on the straights and there was a much more acceptable solution. Get ahead and then just slowly gap him.

You're ably demonstrating why people who use the word "gap" as a verb shouldn't be allowed on trackdays. laugh

Perfect solution, deal with it on track. Post session chat with the Supra guy just proved the point.

Much better than looking for a required education standard to participate in track days. Weak.

Couldn't do that either, as it was sessioned and the pit lane was closed, hence the frustration.

And it's why outbraking him might not have worked either - potentially enough grunt for the Supra to come flying back past and escalating the risk of an incident.

[quote=Cambs_Stuart]Back in the day when briefings were in person, I remember one of the instructors saying:

Live by this, trackdays are no place for ego. Move over, enjoy your day.

Seems there's a lot of egos floating about when I've gone to them.
