LM Classic - a lot less than 24 hours

Seemed to remember more action on track a few years ago. 2018 seemed a bit slow.
2002 timetable has 15 minute gaps between Grids - think they do old starts for grids 1-4 (all through the night!?) and Little Big Mans starting at 4pm!!! on Saturday and a BMW! and Ferrari parade on Sunday pm before end. Hardly 24 hours.
Coupled with a lap behind a pace car at the start of each session. It does seem to reduce the cars on track alot.
Would appear to have lots of time for 4 stints of each grid and not just 3 or bring Group C as Grid 7. Plus you have to stay up between midnight and 2am for Grids 4 and 5 at night.
Hopefully will be dry as damp conditions and safety cars (early red flags for a Grid) seriously reduce the action even more.

I went to the classic in 2012 I think it was, liked looking at the paddocks and there was the occasional bit of track action you could call racing. At least they've added the bonus support races for Group C and the 'Legends' (90s/00s cars) on the Saturday, so you get some action before 4pm...
There's certainly lots of faffing about, doing all the pretend 'Le Mans Starts' etc. But where else can you see old cars racing at night? You have to adjust your body clock and plan to be watching in the evening and night time - not going home at 5pm like at a normal event.
If you just want to watch 'racing' then it is not that sort of event, it is all about the history - seeing the cars close up in the paddock, enjoying the atmosphere, having a nice road trip to the event, nipping into town for some lunch/dinner instead of a dreadful circuit burger.
There's certainly lots of faffing about, doing all the pretend 'Le Mans Starts' etc. But where else can you see old cars racing at night? You have to adjust your body clock and plan to be watching in the evening and night time - not going home at 5pm like at a normal event.
If you just want to watch 'racing' then it is not that sort of event, it is all about the history - seeing the cars close up in the paddock, enjoying the atmosphere, having a nice road trip to the event, nipping into town for some lunch/dinner instead of a dreadful circuit burger.
Was up on Porsche curves at 4am ish last time watching 7 GT40s in a row with brakes all glowing on their first flying lap. If you are not by main start area there are a lot of gaps when not much happens. Would like to see Group C's at night (they run into dusk at Silverstone).
Atmosphere, paddocks and drive down and back is good. More of a moving (very fast in some cases) museum and car show compared to main race where history is made.
Would rather have that at night and push the LBM and the 2 parades during the race to earlier on Saturday.
