Fair enough …think I’d still prefer a 9/10ths lap in the GT2RS than a 10/10ths one in a Hyundai !
Yeah I'm definitely not saying the Hyundai is as anywhere near as quick as the GT2RS... I actually had the GT2RS lap booked but the crash cancelled those plans... It's taking a lot lot longer than expected to repair, I moved the booking a few times but in the end, I swapped to the Schirmer M3 and brought a couple of friends along. Also worth noting that the M3 is 3 times the price of the Hyundai and the GT2 is 4 times the price and you can only take 1 person!
Having done both the M3 and Hyundai on the same day, the M3 was nowhere near 9/10ths. All 3 of us in the car that did both agree that Hyundai was a league above.

Has anyone heard of the guy that does the videos here Misha Charoudin. Just curious how this all works with him driving you around in your car.
It's mostly people asking him to drive their car for some YouTube points. Nice guy who works up at Apex, been around for some time now and as above he did bend someone's car and paid for all repairs.Downward said:

I've done 5 videos with Misha over the years, but I'm driving in all of them. He lives out there, that's where he gets his content and it's no skin off my nose.
I think a lot of people who want him to drive are novices and there is a huge number who think "I wonder how it will feel to go round with my car being driven fairly quickly"

The bent M4CS was my mates bosses car.
I'm certain he's now put out that he won't be paying for any more incidents. Was quite a nice build series mind!
Kudos to Misha both for sharing the mistake, but also for being so transparent about the rebuild. However, I think it's a very difficult topic, because there are cars out there which, sort of, cannot be rebuilt. Even for Porsche 996/7 GT3's now, some factory motorsport parts are getting very difficult, if not impossible (see the genuine Porsche-branded Momo steering wheel as example, or Carrera GT type carbon seats) to source.I'm certain he's now put out that he won't be paying for any more incidents. Was quite a nice build series mind!

To say your car is pushing the envelope for its platform is an understatement. Pushed the envelope, outgrown the Jiffy bag, broken out of the mail sack and now needs a europallet for transport. I don't think you have too many 'Ring trips where even you don't break something mechanical, so I guess it's not really wise for anyone else to try to pilot such an extreme machine?
Does anybody have any restaurant recommendations? We are staying in the Dorint by the GP track but will have the car so can drive out too.
Likewise, any great viewing spots, tourist things etc?
I’m going over with my misses and car mad three year old so family friendly stuff would be great.

Don't forget to book, and don't just turn up, as the popular places will be full.I wouldn't recommend any of the eateries in the immediate vicinity (e.g. the Bitburger / SportsCafe along the boulevard), as both the service and food is quite poor. The food in the Dorint & Lindner is good, but expensive.
Pistenklause was always a favourite as it was in walking distance from the Dorint/Lindner.
We always have at least one evening meal at Brauer's 800ºC in Daun, which is about 25 minutes south-west of Nurburg.
Perfect weather for CircuitDays on Wednesday and Thursday, however it's a bit damp now on Carfreitag
Only one major red flag over the two days, if I'm remembering correctly
Had a lot of fun myself, but only because I got a recommendation from Dale Lomas about where to take the car for some emergency alignment checks and advice - Caterham Deutschland - not so close but really great guys

Well, Easter has been busy with not as many closures as some years previously.
Below a pic I took yesterday about an hour after the track reopened from a closure. Lots of queues to exit the track at times like when I took the photo.
Usual scenario of plenty of cars getting on track and lapping but the pain comes when you need to exit the track.
Plenty of brits here this weekend and a good few were on the Circuit-days trackdays there on Wednesday and Thursday. Two great days followed by long weekend at Nürburgring, with many just chilling and taking in the atmosphere.
